Merged 5x: Quintin Williams Arrested for DUI/Drag Racing

It isn't serious because he didn't kill anyone? Stop trying to defend what could've been a potential murdurer. He knew the law, he knew what the consequences were and yet he made his choice. I bet you'd be singing a differet tune if he ever killed anyone.
Jeez lighten up just a little. Your pissing me off! He was an idiot and people make mistakes.....havent you? I hate when people drink and drive but good god your annoying me acting like a saint. I bet youve driven home after 2 or 3 beers also.

A person is a criminal because he was speeding or racing? please... it aint like he shot somebody...

And if you are refering to the DUI part? that is rediculous.... A 0.087% is nothing! That is like 3 beers. it isnt like he blew a 0.13% or something. he was 0.007 over the legal limit... he was definatly fine to drive and would never have gotten pulled over if he hadent been racing...

Nasty
The article said thta he was that much over the legal limit, not that that was what he blew. So he probably was pretty drunk.

This should be an easy one for Nick. If he wants to send a message to the team regarding discipline, his sacricfical lamb just volunteered to climb up to the alter.

Then handed him the knife.

talk to me buddy when you've had someone close to you killed by a drunk driver. No ,I've never driven drunk. I'm not a Saint but I sure haven't put myself in a situation knowing I could kill innocent people by my action.

I don't care if I pi$$ed you off.

lets not be too sure that Quintin Williams is gone, being that Saban has a guy on his roster right now that is a convicted rapist....the fact that williams had a DUI while under Saban's watch isnt gonna help obviously....

Well, technically no.

Abrams was acquitted of rape, but convicted of the lesser offense of "sexual battery". That being said....Im embarassed that my beloved Phins would have this guy on the roster.

oh... i just saw that he blew a 0.087. i just read somewhere that that isnt what he blew when he got pulled over, but back at the station... which is compeletly different (prob 45 min- an hr afterwards) if he blew a 0.087 at the station, he was worse when driving, and that isnt cool.
To clarify the point I was making before it was pointed out that he blew that back at the station is that anyone that drinks has prob driven at 0.087 and not even known that they were technically over the legal limit at that point. 0.087 isnt stumbling or sluring or anything... No physical signs of being drunk and you can pass a field sobriety test easily. you could talk to a cop at 0.087 and they wouldnt know that you had anything to drink.

Gotta disagree with you on this one.
0.087 is NOT "nothing"....at least not for everyone.
Some people show little or even no ill effects when they blow a .08, other people can't stand up at that level.

really?!?! wow... i have never heard of that. It almost doesnt make since because the number is a percentage of your blood/alcohol content. 2 beers for someone 200 lbs is different than 2 beers for someone at 100 lbs. but i would think that the percentage would be right on with the effects that the person was experiencing.

Then again... you could take into account tolerance... so i guess your right. but i still think you are exagerating that the effects between the 2 people would be that different...

I think the fact that he commited a crime while on Saban's team is what will get him cut. The other crimnals weren't associated with Saban at the time. That's just IMO.

Nope,

when I was younger and dumber (a year or so older than you are now) I got pulled over for going through a small town at 55mph. The cop immediately smelled alcohol on my breath and had me do a field sobriety test. I didnt do very well so he gave me a breathalyzer on the spot. I blew exactly a 0.080 and the cop was a nice guy so he parked my car in the town's parking lot and drove me back to the bar so I could ride home with friends (with strict instruction to not move my car before the next day or he would have a bench warrant issued for my arrest). My point is... I was most definately impaired at 0.080 and could not easily pass a field sobriety test. And, just by seeing my bloodshot eyes and smelling my breath the cop knew I had been drinking.

Another criminal.
You never had 3 beers and drove home? That's pretty much what .087 is the equivalent to. You must live in the Mall of America or be Amish pal!

Who cares what it read? What made him go way over the speed limit endangering peoples lives. Was it not the alcohol? Would he have done what he did if he wasn't drunk? Maybe, maybe not but since he was above the limit it's safe to say he was. He was arrested , found guilty, nuff said.

you are correct in that it has everything to do with tolerance. I used to work in a bowling alley and we had one customer that would put down 4 or 5 Buds/hour. The guy weighed maybe 180 and you really couldnt tell he was getting drunk until his league was nearly over (3 hours). On another team that same night one guy would sometimes bring his wife and every once in a while she would drink a little. If she finished 2 Bacardi O's over the course of the night she was giggling and slurring her speach. She was probably 160lbs or so.
