This was posted just to get people talking, right?

Did you see he will be benched tomorrow. He won't play & they need that game.

There is no way that would happen, for starters Andy Reid and the Eagles won't pay big money for a RB since they don't rely on running much,

2nd there is ABSOLUTELY no way Saban could coexist with TO, I mean not even if they tripled his salary and gave him a full time baby sitter he is a disciplinarian remember. All that talk about the process is sugar coating for JT the primma donna. He is all about discipline.

And lastly, but most obviously I don't think the fans are going to want that dimwit any ways. Can you imagine what his wunderlick score was? It was probably the all time worst score in the history of that test. He is a great wide out but he is truly mindless... :fire: :fire:

Philadelphia is not losing because of Terrell Owens. San Francisco did not go down hill because of Terrell Owens.

All you have to do to make him happy, is pay the man. The Eagles took advantage of the fact that he was known as a cancer in order to give him a contract that is BELOW MARKET for his skills. He accepted that for one year. Then, he showed an INCREDIBLE level of sacrifice by coming back when he did from that injury in the Super Bowl. If the Eagles win that super bowl (they only lost by 3 didn't they?), could there be any doubt that Owens goes down as one of the toughest players to play the game after what he did with basically one good leg? He had to sign a bloody waiver just to play in that game against the orders of no less than three doctors.

Now, I don't know about you, but if I am a team and I've traded for a supposed cancer player, and paid him less than market because of his cancer title, and I see him not just mesh well but become friends with a bunch of people in the locker room, but perform those kinds of heroics...I'm paying the man. There's absolutely no shame in paying a player what he is WORTH. Too many GMs think that the best way to run their team is to swindle players into accepting contracts that do not reflect their actual worth. They think, that is the best way to accumulate the most talent possible while working within the salary cap.

That is a very elementary view of the salary cap era, however. Sooner or later, both players and GMs will come to an equilibrium as far as realizing that if you want to be happy as a player and a teammate, you ask for what you are worth, and if you want to have a chance for your team to have long term success, you develop a reputation as a team that pays players what they are worth. The Eagles played hardball right off the bat with TO, and they should not be surprised that tactic has resulted in what has happened over the last few months. That is the bottom line.

But I like when Mark Schlereth and others say that the Eagles are going to be a better team when they get rid of Terrell Owens. Bullsh!t. A good player is a good player. TO is doing what he's doing even with not saying a damn word to McNabb, and lets face it McNabb, the defense, and the coaching staff's refusal to develop a running game is what is hurting this team right now. Even with TO's latest comments, it is falling on deaf ears in the locker room, cuz they don't care what he says.

The only problem I have with TO for Ricky, is that I personally think that TO has p!ssed away the Eagles' bargaining position on any trade, and I think Ricky, on the other hand, has been a model citizen and has done enough to convince the rest of the league that he is doing this because he needs money, that he has a much better trade value...not to mention, value to our team.

But I cringe every time I see a GM say something like a player should honor his contract, knowing that the player is a top talent and the contract doesn't reflect that at all. I just don't think you're being smart when you try and do something like that, I think in the end it is going to bite you in the @ss.

But, you know this is still not a mature marketplace. Free agency is only what, about 10 or 12 years old? The market has come a long way, but it has a lot further to go.

I would welcome TO with open arms onto this team, and I would pay him the 6 million he deserves in each of the next 3 years. And, our team would win a lot of games, because he would play hard, and he wouldn't complain because he's been paid.

Saban and TO could easily coexist because Saban is not able to be rattled. He treats his players like men and doesn't disrespect them. He has a mature attitude about how to treat players. And a mature attitude from the boss always allows him to deal with even the most immature players.

All that matters is the production.

Owens age and baggage is worth it..

He's Elite........ Ronnie will be so good and confortable next year that Ricky is expendible.....

Id pull that trigger in a heartbeat

but who's gonna throw it to him ??? Gus ?? I think not...

Bottom line, his skills may win us an extra game this year, but his detrimental attitude will lose us 2-3 games more this year! You do the math!

you've lost it this time CK

Easily coexist?

Nobody easily coexists with TO, not in the long run anyway. If Andy Reid and Mooch had problems with TO any coach would. Maybe the Tuna could control TO, but I doubt it. TO would cry like a baby the very second he meets real authority. He would do what he's done his whole carreer, cry to the press and mouth off about everyone.

Remember the press conference when the Eagles signed him. He was screwing with Andy Reid from day one, right in front of all the rolling cameras.

You know who had it right? The Hall of Fame player from the Browns who does the personnel work now for the Ravens. I forgot his name...

Umm....NO!

Now if we had Dan Marino throwing the ball, then HELL yeah - but you think Gus has problems hearing us B!TCH and moan about him overthrowing Chambers, Booker, and Boston? Imagine TO. :rofl3:

No.

And the cap hit would be monstrous. Besides the fact that he's just a cancer.

He'd be PERFECT for the Raiders, so they should be trading Porter or Gabriel for him if anything.

Just say no to TO...Here is why....

1) We still don't have a QB to throw him the ball.
2) Saban teaches and preaches "team, team, team". I don't think that word is in TO's vocabulary.
3) We still don't have a QB to throw him the ball.
4) Saban would have to take hypertension medication if TO were mouthing off to the press all the time...can you see Saban answering the question of what TOs latest blurb to the press means ??? He'd throw the mike at one of the reporters or something.
5) We have many holes to fill...QB, S, CB, DT, LT, C and quite a few backup positions. WR is not on that list anywhere. We don't know about our current WRs without first having a better OL and a QB. Why spend so much money on a WR, even tho he is an elite talent on the field, when we have so many other issues to resolve.
6) We still don't have a QB to throw him the ball.

I really only touched on his apparant dislike of any organization he plays for. We have too many other things to do to get better...

Are you serious with this stuff? First off no one made TO sign that deal. If he wanted a one or two year deal then he should have ask for one.

"A year ago, he signed a seven-year, $49 million deal with Philly. It included a $2.3 million signing bonus. Last year, he made a total of $9.16 million. His base salary this year is $3.25 million."

So that makes him over 12 million over two years. That is market value for him. Now 3 million this year is under market, but the 9 million last year was over. You have to count the signing bonus over the whole deal & not just year one.

Now the longer the deal goes it may go against him, but again. No one made him sign that deal.
