The ignorance on this message board is astonishing. Not only have you all clearly raised your individual blood pressures for a ghost of an enemy, many of you have disrespected and offended persons of color without you even knowing it. The Alliance, first and foremost is pushing for color in the NFL, because of the disparity of player too front office personnel. By no means are they asking or telling owners to hire minorities, just to give them a shot, a shot not afforded to them regardless of credentials i.e. Marvin Lewis, Lovie Smith, Romeo Crennel, Norm Chow and to many of you "alls" dismay many more candidates, all specialists of one or even both sides of the ball. The talent is out there but because of the "coaching carousel" a phrase conjured up by the media; (just a point: unrealistically reporting on Blacks and minorities with no clear and sound frame of reference) minorities have been repeatedly passed up solely because they are out of the loop and not because of talent. The Alliance only seeks for these candidates to have an opportunity at these positions, which was not afforded to them in a "racially diverse" world. NFL owners like most elite don’t come into contact with minorities even though their "best friend is one." And as we all know you give jobs to people you know and trust or to people you were refereed to by your "non-minority" friend. Thus allowing the apprehension of racism (valid or not) to become a concern. Here in lays the merit of the Alliance organization, a sort of police to infuse minorities in the "coaching carousel."
