Just the simple fact that Miami already had a candidate they were going to hire and still had Art Shell come in for an interview is ashame. Unfortunately this country was built on racism and it does still exist. The fact that teams have to be forced to interview a black person is ashame. the NFL is the "Negroe Football League" any way you look at it, but yet all the people in power are white. Makes you wonder. I know why that is so I dont need anyone giving me their opinion on it.

Ditto. Professional sports is a big money business in which wins and losses determine whether you have job security. Its outrageous that these committees think they should tell you how to run your business. Where will they be when you get fired?
Bottom line- hire the best people available regardless of race or ethnicity.

Racism still occurs to this day. Some blacks dont treat whites like they treat blacks. example - a wendys near here has all black people working there ( and has always been all black), and the owner is black. Is that racism? I'll let you decide. Alot of whites are racist too im sure though. Its a two-way thing nowadays. I truely believe this group is trying to do the right thing, but they arent doing it "right"

I would think Oprah. She's a billionaire. But I know the founder of BET (also the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats) is worth over a billion as well. And he became the first black billionaire in the US when he sold BET.

I don't believe minorities get a fair shake in the hiring process. The facts speak for themself. How many minority head coached are there in the NFL and NCAA for that matter.........

Dont know about the NCAA, but I can think of 6 Black Head Coaches in the NFL

Dungy, Green, Crennel, Edwards, Smith, Lewis.

Thats 6 out of 32. Nearly 19% of head coaches in the NFL are Black. According to the CIA, 12.9% of the US population is Black.
So, the facts do indeed speak for themselves and it looks like a pretty fair shake to me.
