**** Vontae.

I swear Im liking Philbin more and more each day. Its great to see a coach come in and clean this locker room up. All the bitching about how Philbin picks trash up off the practice field and wants the players to keep the locker room clean.... I think its great. Philbins new name............THE CUSTODIAN!!! He is getting all the trash and lazy bums out of our place.

Just watch, in time you will all learn to love Philbin. He is going to come in and completely change the culture of this place. Guys who are just here to collect a check or promote themselves are going to find themselves either out of work or on new teams.

I only hope someone will trade us something for Dansby now. If not, this is likely his last season in a phins uni unless he both raises his game and straightens out his attitude. He is clearly on thin ice right now.

Doesn't matter! With who buys our groceries! You don't build a championship caliber team by drafting a guy in the first round and trading him for a 2nd a couple years later!

Ireland has final say. Many on this board don't realize that.

Philbin's approach to this team is much like Josh Mcdaniels was in Denver. That didn't work out so well.

The best thing about Davis was his brother! To him, I say Hasta La Vista Biatch and take Ireland with you.

The hardest part about coming to this site is that it doesn't matter how blatantly terrible a move can be, there will always be someone defending it. Ireland could hijack the goodyear blimp and hurl **** down at some of you in the stands and you'd all just remain there smiling. There's this misguided need to defend people who are associated with the team through their title yet have earned nothing. The intelligence and savvy with which Shula and others built this franchise's identity of success are more integral and lasting parts of the Dolphins than whatever talentless prick gets an office for a few years. Pay honor to the qualities Shula and Robbie instilled in this franchise. Defend intelligence, competence, courage, excellence. Ireland robs this team of those qualities. Don't defend someone who is grinding your team into the ground.

Grantland...

Weeks 1-9: ranked 30th Pass D
Weeks 10-17: 3rd Pass D
"Miami's pass defense morphed from grotesque to gorgeous across the season's halves. This could have happened by random chance, but there's a very telling coincidence that I think might have had something to do with it. Cornerback Vontae Davis isn't on Darrelle Revis's level, and he can lack for consistency, but he has borderline Pro Bowl talent. And during that first nine-week stretch, Davis missed four games entirely while being forced out of two other games with injuries.[SUP]6[/SUP] Davis made it back for Week 10 and didn't miss a single game the rest of the way. The dramatic difference obviously overstates Davis's impact, but he's an enormously valuable player to the Dolphins who makes them significantly better when he's healthy and in the lineup."

Philbin's on some deranged power-trip. You cannot justify giving away a 24 year-old with Vontae's athletic ability and history of shutting down very good Receivers--not to mention him being one of the best tacklers/ run-support corners in the AFC. This is pretty awful, and it makes me doubt Philbin a lot.

I'm really not sure how many nickel corners get traded for a 2nd? Like Vontae or not the fact is his role was going to be limited because the staff didn't like him so at least be realistic about the situation. At the end of the day we likely got a high second rounder for a guy whose snaps were going to be limited.

Says the psychic that spells Karlos, "Carlos"

Hey, tell dudes mom to put the crack pipe away and spell his name correctly in the first place. How bout that.

/Cant find the comedy clip that suggests there should be google in the deliver room when its time for people to name their kids. That way when they punch in something ridiculous google says ...... did you mean "jennifer"?

Is it supposed to make me feel better that our coaching staff was stupid enough to bench clearly the best player in our secondary?

Because it doesn't. :|

Vontea is not a nickel he is a cb he might have fallen out wth the new staff, but that is on Ireland for drafting him knowing his issues!
