MERGED: For once and for all Brown no backup...

I can't believe you guys are still trying to argue with godfater. He's never watched Brown play a down in his life but thinks he knows it all. He doesn't understand what the word backup is.

Did he start games or not?

Brown started when Caddy was hurt. other than that Caddy was the starter. which would make him the backup.

With all due respect, does it really matter if Brown was a starter in college or not? I just don't get it. He was rated as the number two player overall in the draft by Mel Kiper and by many other publications.

The fact of whether he was a backup at Auburn or not is irrelevant now. He will probably (99.9999999%) be the starter at Miami... and that's all that matters. He'll make an impact , that's all that matters.

Once again... this question is totally unnecessary.

Yes Caddy was the Starting RB and Brown was his backup.

all you have to do is look at the stats to see who was the starter. brown started 21 of 47 games, he started when caddy was hurt. you don't have to watch the games to read the stat book. plus it looks like you should pay attention to the starters and there positions when you watch next time.

Yes i agree he was a good pick. and he should do good for us. but, When you give a reputable source that has an interview where Brown himself says " i did not start alot" that means he was caddies backup. and people just don't even want to take Ronnie brown himselfs word. it can just be annoying.

Annoying is calling the #2 pick in the draft and the best RB a BACKUP in every post...

Brown started 21 of 47 games. due to injuries to caddy. caddy started every game he was healthy.

Not at all true, now stop making such quick replies, and do some research on how many games Brown started last year, then check Caddy, then notice that Brown started quite a few of them at the same time Caddy did. Thus, he did not only start because Caddy was hurt, then go to bed,

:D

Annoying?

What's annoying is the fact that this argument means nothing. Backup or not, doesn't matter. Perhaps there comes a time where the issue just becomes a dead one.

Again, my original point: Split back, backup, starter... doesn't matter. All that matters is that he was rated higher on many draft boards than any other RB.

I just don't see the purpose to this argument. Tuberville started Caddy, because he had to in order to get any production out of him. Who cares? Ronnie Brown was the best running back in the draft and virtually every single analyst agrees. The semantics of who did what at Auburn are irrelevant to that fact.

Caddy got more reps at RB than Brown. that is what makes him the starter. one play does not matter.

I guess that even because Caddy started the game against Alabama this year he wans't the starter because he had less carries (15), then Brown(16)...
