MERGED: For once and for all Brown no backup...

He was a backup.

Priest Holmes was a backup( to Ricky williams and to Jamal lewis)

a backup is what he was that is fact. it does not bother me nowhere near as much as it bothers all of you to hear that.

Question, consider for a moment (For argument sake, both Caddy and Brown were equal Runners).....which combo would sound better to you.....Brown Blocking for Caddy, or Caddy Blocking for Brown?

C.Williams Carried the ball 86 times more then ronnie did.Ronnie carried the ball 153times and C.Williams carried the ball 239.Dont say they split carries. That aint even near a split.86 times is like 3 more games more.Stats show it.The reason why is because ronnie is a better blocker then C.williams.Auburn system worked better when Williams had the ball and ronnie blocking. They want to win games.I hate to say it ,but ronnie was a back-up.Williams was more in the offence then ronnie was.Stats prove it.Ronnie will be a better Nfl back, because of speed, hands, blocking, and is strong as hell.Im so happy we got Ronnie. He is going to have a great carrer in Miami.

It's not worth your time. i gave them a link where Ronnie Brown himself admitted in an interview that he didn't start and that was not good enough for them. They will also refuse to believe that since you say he was the backup that you believe he will be any good.

No backup implies to don't start at your position. Caddy started Brown didn't.

No thats what backup means not the starter... Backup implies you are not the #1 back (starter) because you are the not as good, hence you are the #2 RB (backup)...

Maybe there should be a poll about which kingfin thread topic is most ridiculous. This one or the one asking if it was a waste to draft Roth in the 2nd.

There it is, and for agruements sake I could say Brown did start, just at fullback... There it is folks Brown was not a Backup but a Starter.. at Fullback

I heard that had Ronnie Brown slid to #5 and Tampa he was gonna make one hell of a backup RB/ starting FB to Pittman.. Imagine Pittman 25 times a games with Ronnie Brown blocking every play...

What is wrong with the question about Roth? First i want to say i like Roth and with his intensity i think he will be fun to watch. but at the same time there where players that we could have got that would have been able to be full time players and not a backup like he will most likely be this year. we could have helped out our oline with players like Khalif Barnes or Marcus Johnson.

But it goes even deeper then that, Caddy had to block a few times, and in those few times he had a blocking assignment, he was not near as effective as Brown was, as he sometimes was overpowered, or got a bad angle. Brown on the other hand in his times running the ball had a much better yards per carry average.

This was done for the better of the team, a Big RB that could block like a quality FB blocked for a very good RB that had good vision and good quickness.

Priest Holmes was also a backup in college. Who cares?

It bothers some people on here to admit that Caddy was the starter. that does not bother me i have no problem that he was Caddies backup. what bothers me is the people that can't handle that fact.

Show me where caddy said that. i showed you where Brown admitted he wasn't the starter.

There you go again, silly rabbit.

Ronnie Brown started 6 games last year. And he was in on more downs than the Caddylack.

Dude you have to stop this. You wanna compare Stats? Sure Williams had more rushing attempts, but brown had 313 Recieving yards compared to Carnell's 152. Brown averaged 6 yards a carry compared to Carnell's 4.9. They were partners, and no real starter. Brown is the better of the two, and you need to stop with these threads.

You are talking talent not starter and backup witch is what this thread is about.
