MERGED: For once and for all Brown no backup...

Cedric Benson 2002

305 1293 4.2avg

Both started in their 2nd year... I like Browns stats...

read this artical. it even says he went back after his junior year knowing that he would BACKUP williams and split carries. i repeat it says he knew he would BACKUP williams. that is coming from Ronnie Brown himself. so i want to hear how ronnie brown is wrong and that he was the starter.

Once again. All hearsay. It is NOT coming from Ronnie Brown himself. It's coming from Scott Wright. Give it up already.

Guys the best part about this thread is we can loan it to the team that picks Reggie Bush next year.. He is the backup to LenDale White and will probaly be picked ahead of him.. Can't wait for the can't believe the Cards drafted Reggie Bush, he is just a backup...

2004 USC Rushing

LenDale White 203 1104 5.4avg 15tds

Reggie Bush 143 908 6.3avg 6tds
just to play devil's advocate i don't think bush is the best back in next year's draft regardless...but back on topic...

what's the point of this godfater? you say you like brown, yet you're persistent in proving he was a backup to cadillac (and you're failing, but at least you're trying). the fact that so many people have proven you wrong should be a sign it's time to shut up and just move on. seriously what's the point?

Is anyone going to argue that Caddy was better than Brown... Tuberville used both almost equally so who started the game or was listed 1st on the depth chart means nothing to me...

You haters need to give it up. We drafted the BEST RB in the draft.

Who said Brown was not a good Running back? the fact that he is good or not does not change the fact that he backedup williams.

Why is this such a big deal anyway? If he was a backup, so the f*** what?... He'll START for us now.

hold on bro not sooooo fast just like you didnt like hearing that brown was a back up here this wheather any of us like it or not ricky will most likely be back this year even coach saban said so and even if we dont want him here it is not up to us saban has the last say soo be careful about saying brown will be the starter cause ricky imo is a 90% chance of coming back this year :shakeno:

Ricky coming back? Yeah, sure! I will believe that when I see it. He is not even in football shape for one thing. And I don't care who you are, a year away from the game will hurt you. Even more so when you lose 20-30lbs.

It does to you or you would be happy we got the best back with the least amount of mileage.... We got the best running back and backup running in one pick... Brilliant

It also says he would split carries. A starter/back-up relationship is not described as "splitting carries".

William averaged 20 touches per game to Browns 15
Williams had 1,317 total yards to Brown's 1,226
91 yards total offense difference. You find me one other back-up with stats like that.

Just for fun. Was Csonka, Morris, or Kiick the starter? And would you consider the others back-ups in 1972??

The only thing you have proven is that it does not matter what facts are shown you don't care to know the truth. I show an artical that lists brown started 21 of 47 games and was only the featured back when there where injuries. that was not good enough because it was out of state. I gave you auburns depth chart which has Brown listed behind williams that was not good enough because it was before the season started. I gave you a draftcountdown page that said Brown himself knew he would have to backup williams when he went back for his seinor year. and that was not good enough. So Ronnie Brown himself knowing he was a backup is not good enough for you.
