Merged: Insight into Sparano's more aggressive approach

I so don't want to be let down again...but it's hard, as a fan, to not start getting a bit excited about the possibilities with this team this year. Lots of IFs and things that really need to come together and happen for it to work....but...it's possible...finally. We shall see.
How great would it be to start out shocking the hell out of New England....and all the media for that matter.

It would absolutely ****ing rule!

Come Monday night's kickoff, I'm sure the raging homer in me will be out in full force. :chuckle:

... 'til then, I'm skeptical. :idk:

“The people that I worked for before, [low-risk play-calling is] how they approached it,”

We bit**ed when Parcells took his money and ran but in retrospect, I wish he'd have left a lot sooner.

Shouldnt you wait until the season is over before you make such proclamations? At least Sparano was the agent of change when it came to those decisions. If it were up to Parcells, the staff wouldnt have changed at all since 2008. Sparano was the man pushing for these changes.

Yeah...two years too late on all of them.

Talk is cheap, i will believe it when the lights go on, and the games count. Lets see if he falls into his conservative ways when the matters most. I'll bet after a few failed chances, he returns to fist pumping field goals.

Talk is cheap, but Reggie's action isn't

I like that looking himself in the mirror part. Sparano is a likable dude who is facing his own failure. It's good that he realizes the need for him to grow. It's all words though at this point. And words are the easy part. Let's see if he can pull it off.

Translation: My boss said score some damned points or pack my bags.

wrong, his boss said become a winner. So sparano gameplanned about what he needed to do to turn this football team into a winner, he knew the philosophy of this team needed to change to become a winner. When parcells was here sparano wasnt in charge of who his offensive coordinator was, so it was a great thing parcells left. Good job tony, you have my full support.

When you go 11-5 as a rookie head coach running the hell out of the rock, wouldnt it be logic to try it again? Tony gets alot of flack but dont forget he's still on his first NFL head coaching gig...

Glad to know it wasn't him that was going full retard with the play calling. But it disturbs me he let Dan Henning walk all over him like that. I don't a **** how old he is.. dude almost cost him his job.

that was parsells doing. parsells gone. freedom.
