Ricky Williams really lets us down last season. there is no certainty he wont do it again. That said though I still think he's the best player on this offense, and maybe best player on the team.

with ricky coming back ronnie will be that much more dangerous. He will lineup all over the place. He is going to be a dangerous threat as a receiver and running back. This will be a good year for us.
 
One thing I find funny!!...

You people crying that you hope Ricky can return, play a season and do well enough to garner trade reciprication......will be the same ones next offseason saying "We Shouldn't Trade Ricky!! He came back and showed he still has it, we need to keep him!!"

..and don't say it won't happen, because you all know damn well if he comes back and shows a glimpse of what he had, and Brown plays average (even though he's a rook), you won't want him gone.

No, really. I wouldn't. No player is worth the risk that RW poses. I don't hold anything against him. I feel bad for him most of the time with his social phobia, pot problem and general inability to "fit" into the NFL lifestyle - when he is such a gifted athlete. That said, the best thing for the fins would be to trade him after a successful season. I mean it would be a sappy sweet story for him to come back and give another great 5 years to the fins, but alll that time, he would be a high risk, a loose canon. Trade him for a more solid player or pick, even if less of a star. That would be the best thing for the team. After the trade, I would like to see RW do well enough to make himself happy (but not in games against us of course!).

So you see, you are just mouthing off about what you think you know about where veryone else's head is or will be. That's some crystal ball.

I love to watch the guy play, but team stability is more important than stars (see Patriots dynasty) - and yes I know Brady and some other guys are stars on that team. But generally, good character fills the bill on that team.

As for Cole reporting it, fine, but who's to say he won't report that the nutcase forgot his meds again, and is going to stay retired?

Look at where we are headed, so lets look at the bright side. I dont regret what Ricky did at this point as I see us benefitting from that in the long run. And not only durability in the past, but not overused. So there is a better than average chance he will enjoy long term success with his variety of skills, and plain old power. He could get a freak injury, but I think his chances are pretty good of surviving the long haul. Better than most under 210 pound, overused backs coming in.

Hopefully he won't remind you of what he is capable of. Like walking out on his team at one of the worst times possible. Turning his back on his teamates, and the fans, to go burn one. :eek:

i would welcome ricky back just because he has "value" to the miami dolphins. i believe he will be traded at some point after this season.

my only question would be can a RB that has been known as a "power back" be successfull when he weights 200 pounds and hasnt played football in a year?

i dunno, i hope so, cause i would like to get something for him.

If he comes back I wouldn't count on Saban trading him this season. His unpredictable behavior and his seeming disregard for his teammates and coaches make it highly unlikely that any team would invest anything more than a late rd draft choice on him (6th or 7th).
 
Imagine RW in the backfield with Ronnie Brown in the slot.

Then bring Brown "in motion" towards the QB....

Snap the ball and have Brown running towards the QB for a "reverse"..

Fake the hand off to him.....and pitch it to RW who is running the opposite way on a toss play.....

LB`s would not know who the heck to chase.

We could do so many things with the two of them.

Linehan could design so many different plays and our offense would have so many options.

I dont care what anyone says.

I dont care if you have 100,000 posts with the ethics and morality of the Pope.

I will welcome RW back with open arms.
