MERGED: John Clayton mentions Miami as possible destination for Knowshon Moreno

Believe whatever you want, there's a reason he's getting no love in FA

And it may be his asking price or a cap issue. Eventually he will learn to get what he can and move on. RB's are not getting paid in this league like they once were, and they are not being drafted high either. The game is changing. I would take his numbers all day long.

Good, we'll gladly take him! Denver will regret it. Don't forget that letting him go Might all may be about the cap and money. It's happening all over the league.

Was having him on the roster bubble last training camp about cap space too? You guys, I'm close to this situation here in Denver and nobody is sad to see him go. They all wanted an upgrade and bad mouth him endlessly. Sound familiar?

Knoshown is gonna put up those numbers in Miami...are you his agent or something?

He's better than DT. That's a fact.

He's 26 yrs old and not a lot of mileage on those tires. No one is saying he's AP or that we shouldn't draft a RB, we definitely should, but we need a vet guy who can catch, get tough yards and score TD's. That's exactly what we need in Miami!

Do we get Peyton with him? Do we get a promise from every team we play that they'll stay in nickel and dime coverages?

Dude is Joseph Addai...whatever happened to Addai anyhow?

quik someone call the Patriots so they sh_t themselves! geezuz we're the team everyone says they're coming to, but never do.. pathetic

No just a fan who has been clamoring for a championship for over 40 years. Yes 40. We need a balanced offense for our young QB to be successful and to compete in our division. He is not a long term solution but IMHO he would be great in our offense. The best teams all have balance, and those with power running games this year dominated the pass first teams. Even the Pats are changing to protect Brady. I say draft a power back and sign Moreno.

So besides negating everything I say and being a smart a$$, what is your solution? Let's hear your brilliant assessment of our RB situation and how you would fix it. We literally had 4 games last year where our leading RB had less than 15 yds rushing--15! For the whole game! In two of those games our QB was the leading rusher. One game Tanny was the leading rusher with 2 friggin yards. TWO

I hear ya and want the same. I just hate the idea of Knowshon being a fin because he takes up a roster spot and I'd rather have a rookie get those snaps. I know he put up numbers in Denver, but he also had tons of room to run because that passing threat. Then as a safety valve in that offense it gave him the receiving stats.

Miami's offense can't give him those luxuries and signing him is going to be more expensive than a draftee's contract. I'm hoping the line is better and at least gives us a chance to get an honest evaluation on Miller. Then let's draft another back and take a chance there.

I haven't looked up the numbers but I want to say he has every but the fumbling problem Thomas has, if not more.

Why is everyone saying he is only good because of Payton. The guy has averages between 3.8-4.3 yards per carry every year except in 2011 with Tebow at QB when he averaged 4.8 with limited carries.

He almost broke 1000 yards as a rookie in 2009, he missed some time in 2010 with an injury and still put up 750 yards. Then was behind Willis McGahee the next two years before he gained the starting role again last year.

He isnt gonna be amazing but he will be a solid back in a two back system and that just happens to be what the phins have with miller and Thomas and he can replace Thomas to improve the tandem. I would prefer a power back but who knows if thats what Lazor runs on Offence.

See post above and I'm putting most the blame on our line. Our backs were hit behind the line an awful lot.

So if i understand you correctly it is the offensive line's fault? If we were to fix the line and add Knowshon, wouldn't that make us better since he has a track record of putting up pretty good numbers?

Like I said earlier he may find that the RB market is not so great, and he could be a starter in Miami. Ball is obviously the future in Denver and whoever we draft will be ours. Thomas is a bust. Miller is a 3rd down back. We have room on our roster to draft our next RB this year. I like the kid from Boston College and could probably get him in the 3rd or 4th round. We need Moreno this year more than Denver does. Trust me, he would be effective here.

Our backs cannot break a tackle. Miller always jukes and tries to break it outside. Moreno would be an effective between the tackles runner for us. I like him more than MJD or Blount, and he would be a good stopgap until we find our Monte Ball.
