MERGED: John Clayton mentions Miami as possible destination for Knowshon Moreno

So if i understand you correctly it is the offensive line's fault? If we were to fix the line and add Knowshon, wouldn't that make us better since he has a track record of putting up pretty good numbers?

If we fix the line and add a more dynamic back than Moreno that's even better. Not hard to find one more dynamic than him.

No surprise that he had his best season when he was in a contract year and people didn't care about them running the ball when they were worried about stopping one of the best passing seasons in the history of the NFL. Or besides that he got 224 yards about a fifth of his yards in one game and the next highest total was 93 yards. This guy has not lived up to the hype of what a top 15 pick should. (Could be sadi about alot of people) Regardless, Moreno is nothing special and if he doesn't get signed by us I won;t lose any sleep. Why not just go draft a Tre Mason or jeremy Hill? Why sign a vet back who has had one good season in his five year career.

IMHO opinion, and now you know I have no problem expressing it LOL, it wasn't JUST an oline problem last year. We had an inexperienced coach who was feuding with his GM, we had a scheme problem, we had a play-calling problem, and yes we had a talent problem at the RB position. We didn't even have a true FB on our roster and tried to use friggin Egnew as a lead blocker. Omg what a joke. Like another poster said earlier, just fixing the oline was not going to fix that clusterf$&k. I do think we are headed in the right direction now, but we need a vet RB. Draft the future but win now. We can agree to disagree but I think Moreno would help us while we groom our future RB.

Being from Colorado I've seen a lot of Moreno and he wasn't all that special until this past season but the passion and drive that he showed this year was special and he is excellent out of the backfield and excellent in pass protection. Not too much wear on the tires either. I would like the signing if it happens.

I agree about the line and play calling. I'm not as confident in our backs as I was prior to last year as well. The main reason I don't want Moreno is his lack of game breaking ability. I think Miller has a chance with his speed, whereas Moreno cannot run away for the big play. I'd like to give Miller another year at the least with some rookie competition.

Sorry for coming off like an A$$, it sucks living in Bronco country right now.

Phins up!

No one is saying he is AP, but he did have 10 rushing tds and caught 60 balls for 3 more tds. He is great out of the backfield with almost half his games with more than 5 catches. If you add those yards to his rushing yards you have a player who averaged over 100 yds/game in 9 games. That's pretty damn good. Put him with Miller and I think we can roll with that this year. Then draft our future back this year. That's my plan.

It's all good. Good teams are good for a reason--its the leadership in the locker room and in the front office. We now know that the dysfunction in the front office translated to dysfunction on the field. I think we are headed in the right direction now, with better leadership and hopefully a better draft. Remember with all the **** we saw on the field and in the press we still managed to go 8-8, with a legit shot at the playoffs. Philbin knows he has to get it done this year, which is why he cut his friend loose and pushed for more cohesion between the staff and the GM. I like our moves so far and hope we pick up a vet RB to mentor our rookie.

No thanks, I prefer to go old and pickup Maurice Jones-Drew. We clearly need leaders who can play the game, and he can still do both at a high level.

He's not good. He can pass block and that's it.

No I'm serious. I've been a fan since 19freakin66 and I'm convinced some on this board don't even have a clue about who the Dolphins are or even understand their history. They know nothing about these players or this team other than what they've seen on Madden. It wouldn't matter who the OP put as a potential team for this player, the xbox experts always chime in. Give me some facts, give me some rational thoughts, show me some data to back up your post that he is "garbage." Don't just be a coward, then throw a grenade and run. I come on this board to learn and share, and what I've learned and what I will share tonight is that immense ignorance exists here.

I was more so addressing the Peyton part, you've gotta be dense to think he still doesn't have it. I think most people here don't think he is washed up. But right after his injury, there was sure as hell reason to believe he wouldn't be the same player. And the madden thing you keep bringing up is stupid, who is even using that as a source right now?? But about Moreno, yes he is an upgrade over all rb's. But I'd like to see any of our guys in Denver and see how they produce. I'd take Miller as my starter due to his potential behind a better line. Moreno isn't elite or special honestly, his best asset is pass blocking. I remember my Georgia fan friend toting him highly out if college and what happened? Nothing until teams were scared ****less of Manning throwing. I'd sign him I guess but still draft a guy. Get rid of Thomas/Gillislee. Moreno is basically a slightly more talent Mike Gillislee, average all around

We have a pass catching back in Miller. That was one of the things he specialized in out of college. To add to your passing statistical season that is what gave Moreno the chance to catch all those balls. He isn't a good back to be honest. Again besides this past season on the best offense in the hostory of the game what has he done?

Moreno is better than Thomas, no doubt. I dont think Miami signs him though, Hickey has said he prefers to draft a RB

I feel like hes the Ben Affleck of running backs...

If hes in a really bad movie he looks like a bad actor...but even when hes in a great movie he only looks average.

With that passing game and that smart of a QB who always knew when to audible down into a run and had complete control of the offense, I feel like alot of RBs couldve produced in that situation.
