MERGED: Phins worked out WR Legedu Naanee today

If the Dolphins sign him, and there is no guarantee they do, he is likely competition for Wallace and Moore. Bess, Hartline and Gates are the only locks at wide receiver to make the roster. Miami is likely going to carry 5 or 6 receivers, which means there are 2-3 openings. One will go to a draft pick for sure, but the other 1-2 will likely be between Wallace, Moore, Pruitt, Hogan, possibly Naanee and/or a late round draft pick.

Why sign such a 4 year vet to be our friggin 4th or 5th receiver and esp one that has been so mediocre. Hell lee evans was available a few days ago, I mean why not a jerrico Cothery or Patrick Crayton both much better players than this guy.

I hope the light turns on for Wallace and/or Moore this year. Each extremly physically gifted in their own right, it's about time one of them broke out Miles Austin/ Victor Cruz style.

Austin and Cruz have quality qbs throwing to them. Something Ireland has yet to understand is that a good qb makes your wrs, rbs and offensive line look better, not the other way around.

I personally dont see the fascination with either. I think they will have the same impact on the football field as Miles Davis and victor Borge.

Naanee IMO opinion is a waste of a roster space for us. If we sign him that speaks volumes about Gates, and the group of scrubs eveyone hypes every year.

NFL 101 - We can only keep 53 players about 5 or 6 receivers. If the guy shines in training camp and the preseason games, we keep him and that would not be a waste of roster space.. If not, we release him before the start of the season. This has nothing to do with Gates, but a little competition to bring the best ouf of all the receivers...

competition certainly didnt make this scrub any better. if he makes our roster its a sad indictment of our receivers

You're making excuses why he wasn't productive in S.D. and why he got benched in Carolina. He's awful. Plain and simple. Watch him actually play a football game and you'll stop making excuses

I just pointed out the POSITION he played while in SD, and the best spots he was used in. I see alot of KC games, and them being in the AFC WEST I see them at least twice a year. Add the fact I have had VJAX on my fantasy team the last 3 years, and well, I follow SD quite abit.

Now go spin your BS elsewhere.

Legedu Naanee ... sounds like some French whore working Lego Land.

Let me temper why I say he is a waste of space. He is not good enough to be a starter and Im sure we will draft or bring in some one to be a starter so that makes him at best our 4th receiver, its bad value to even spend minimum salary 5th year player type to fill a 4th wr role. this is the type of role that you fill through draft or other less expensive players. Im sure most of us want gates to be at very least our 4th receiver so what value does this guy bring.

Here is what happened here in San Diego. Public intoxication and resisting arrest in Indy.

Hmm more of bringing in questionable guys after we act like we dont want these types. Its not like there are not better players out there like Patrick Crayton

No for two reasons one he will not make 2 million at least I hope and he did at least was able to start although on a weak wide receiver team after Smith
