Teddy could shake and bake but Grice-Mullins and Bess have that ability to gain seperation unless Ted or Pat. Lets all pray this guy can be atleast what bess is.
Ted Ginn could not shake and bake at all. He could outrun people, but he had 0 ability to shake and bake.Teddy could shake and bake but Grice-Mullins and Bess have that ability to gain seperation unless Ted or Pat. Lets all pray this guy can be atleast what bess is.

I could be talking all day about RGM, to me he is that good. The kid was a leader at Hawaii and older guys looked up to him and Bess for knowledge. Im telling you I really really hope he makes this team.
Are you gonna keep on this after he cuts then...? RGM is training camp fodder - if you can't seperate yourself in the CFL in a passing league - in a league that favours WRs and Return teams you are screwed in the NFL - and not to mention he isn't some tank that enjoys contact - what a laugh...

Not sure what exactly you boys are smoking RGM is not Ginns equal..., don't even go there... As inconsistent Ginn is RGM is less spectacular...
DAVIE — Dreadlocked, sure-handed and quick-footed, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen looks like Davone Bess and plays like Davone Bess.
But one Bess might be enough.
The pair starred together in college at Hawaii, but Grice-Mullen will need to establish his own identity to stick with the Dolphins.
The hole created in the return game last month by Ted Ginn Jr.'s trade could be his chance.
"As a young player that's your biggest way of making the team is special teams," Grice-Mullen said Saturday during the second day of rookie mini-camp. "But you still have to impress in other areas, too."
Grice-Mullen put up Bess-like numbers in June Jones' pass-happy system in Hawaii, but also built a pretty good résumé as a return man last season for the CFL's British Columbia Lions.
Playing on the league's 110-yard field, Grice-Mullen set a playoff record with a 106-yard punt return for a touchdown in a Nov. 22 loss to Montreal.
The Dolphins called the next day and eventually signed Grice-Mullen in January.
"You know how this game is," he said, "sometimes it's perfect timing."
Working with rookies and first-year players this weekend, Grice-Mullen hopes to get back in synch with Bess.
Known as the "Dreadheads," the duo caught 214 passes and 25 touchdowns as juniors in 2007 before declaring for the NFL Draft.
But while Bess caught on with Miami and excelled as an undrafted rookie, Grice-Mullen injured his hamstring, was cut by two teams and ended up in Canada.
They are used to the comparisons by now, having heard them from their very first game as college freshmen at Hawaii.
Statistically, they were nearly interchangeable during the three years they played together.
Skill-wise, they were pretty much the same.
Both played their high school ball in California.
Even their appearance could cause double-takes if they entered a crowded room together.
Sometimes it's hard to know where Davone Bess stops and Ryan Grice-Mullen begins.
"Davone is like my brother," Grice-Mullen says Saturday at Dolphins rookie minicamp. "We're both about the same height — he's a little wider, I'm a little slimmer. Both of us wear dreads. He started his before mine, but mine are a little longer."
If Bess were a Hollywood actor in need of a stuntman, Grice-Mullen would get the job, hands-down.
If Bess were a dictator in need of a body double, there would be no need for an audition.
At 5 feet 11, Grice-Mullen is one inch taller. At 190 pounds, Bess is 10 pounds heavier.
