MERGED:The Truth About Culpeper\Culpepper without Moss

I have said he is overrated even in the year he supposedly had one of the best seasons ever for a QB. I got so tired of talking about it I just put it into my sig. You need more reasons search my posts for previous Culpepper threads.

You are thick.

"Daunte Culpepper is Overrated Fan Club
Career Fumbles 81 Career Interceptions 86 in 80 games
Career winning percentage .500"

Of those 81 fumbles, 33 were lost. He's tossed 135 TDs (49 more than INTs). His career passer rating is 91.5. He has 29, that's right 29, rushing TDs. That brings his total TDs to 164.

I'm sure you consider Brett Favre to be a great passer. If not, I wouldn't be surprised because you obviously don't have the greatest read on QBs. Anyway, in 225 games Brett Favre has 130 fumbles (53 lost) and 255 INTs. He's thrown 396 TDs and rushed for another 12. Is he overrated also? He did have Antonio Freeman all those years.

Just stop.

Not to mention in Culpeppers best year Moss only had about 700 recieving yards and 48 receptions

Most people fail to realize he had a bad knee going into the season, although it had nothing to do with the injury he had later
You do realize that Randy Moss brings more into the table than just statistics?

How many double or triple coverages did he had to go through in Minnesota? All those things helped Daunte Culpepper find a wide open receiver other than Moss. Moss is never wide open, he will always be double or tripled covered.

It's funny that people have this idea that defenses had 2-3 guys following Moss all around the field, leaving other guys wide open. That's not how it works. First, most teams play much more zone than man coverage. Sure, defenses roll their coverage toward the No. 1 receiver, but they do that for every No. 1 receiver, not just Moss.

Not when he wasn't on the field OR playing at about 70%.....which was probably about half of 2004.
