Merged: Tim Couch Worth a Look - Why Not?

Woudnt that confuse the QB controvery even more and be like a knife in the backs of Frerotte and Feeley? I dont like the idea really
 
i really dont know about that one...but hey he just might be better than the lot we have now

FIEDLER has better career stats than Couch. You guys hated Fiedler... why would you want couch? change of scenery? he's no better than Frerotte.

Well, I guess it's something to kill some time talking about, but his stats are anything but impressive. A career 75.1 QB rating 64 TDs and 67 INTs. It's really easy to say Couch was a victim of circumstance in Cleveland, however maybe Couch was part of the problem.
And yeah, I agree that (IMO) Couch would be no better than Gus.
 
bring him in if he is real cheap.

we all know gus isn't the answer to our qb problems.

maybe saban sees something in couch.

they both know that they arent on Saban's A-list....so this is much better than spening a bunch and trading for rivers or brees or something like that...still i just say go with a QB in the first round
 
couch probably would come here than the giants.

cause he has a chance to start here and no chance to start in new york.
 
Can't hurt - I don't think any of these guys are anything better than backups for most teams. I don't see this problem being solved this year. Owner/management will have to work, trade and pay for a quality QB in '06. Too late now.

Have you ever seen that tv commercial about having poor timing? The guy is at dinner with his girlfriend and she tells him she loves him and he just sits there, and says nothing. She gets mad storms out leaving the guy at the table. All of a sudden he says I love you too, but the girl is long gone. Maybe he also has poor timing?

Come now!
First off both these guys know that football is a competitive arena and no position is gauranteed, they need to be earned.

Secondly, these guys would be smart enough to know and you certainly should be as well to realize that if Couch is brought in at this point it would be for the 3rd string job this year only. Couch is going to need time just to get back into the game of football let alone having to learn an entire system 3 weeks into preseason. If Couch is signed it will be for his future potential, he will sit, learn this system and compete for a starting job NEXT YEAR.

imo if and when we get couch i still think if he dont pan out that we will still go with rivers or brees and it will prob be brees because look at the cap that the bolts have with rivers and he has done pretty good in camp so imo our next franchise QB will come from the chargers because we prob want pick in the 1st round until around 15th or 16th and look at the teams out 4 a qb just to name a few even if they r a backup for next season tenn green bay ect... and i know there is other teams besides the ones i mentioned so IMO bring in couch let him learn the system as the year gose on and if he can contribute than ok and if not send him and the rest (the other 3 or 4 we allready have packing) and grab the one the bolts let go because they both can start in the nfl and think about it would you let go of brees 4 nothing with the #s he put up last year? and like i said it would kill the bolts to let rivers go (salary cap)
