With approximately $60m-$65m in cap space for 2022, its quite possible Miami could resign all 4 of Gesicki, Baker, Fuller and Ogbah. But I wouldn't bet on it. Miami kind of showed their hand by trading away Flowers and releasing Van Noy. They aren't going to take anymore chances on big contracts outside of the QB and DB positions. Unless he's considered to still be an ascending player, who's willing to sign a team friendly deal.
Baker showed he's capable of being a pass rush specialist and may still fit in, as part of, the teams future plans? Fuller if he can stay healthy, and off the juice, may prove worthy of the franchise tag. But staying off the juice could prove his ticket out of town? Ogbah, needs to be more consistent if he's going to get an extension. Can't disappear for the final 8 games, like he did in 2020.
Gesicki I think will have suiters lined up. Especially the AFC and NFC teams that are close to his Jersey roots. Hopefully Miami still values his skillset and gets him resigned.
My honest guess is, they'll try to sign some to extensions and let the others walk and collect the comp picks. If they truly value the New England way, they could value the comp picks more then the players? JMO
