Miami Dolphins Dt Jordan Phillips Wants To Be Elite. How Close Is He?

How high and/or drunk were you when you wrote this?? 3 guys on your list that have never taken a snap in the NFL?

Wanting 2 of C.Harris but "nope" to Quinn and R.Jones ? what lol

Well you have to factor age into the equation. Clearly you'd clone your younger players first. Also having two SS's isnt a great idea. Makes perfect sense.

Elite players have elite work ethics which is something Phillips has never been accused of.

I can't believe Wake isn't on this list even at his age give me 2 of those coming off the edges or spelling each other.

When Phillips used to line up next to Suh, he was about three or four feet away from elite, but that's as close as he would ever be.

Don't need Phillips or Godchaux, or any DT to be elite. As number of consistent playoff teams have no 'elite' DT. They just need to be consistent, do their assignment, and play solid. Yes, it would be nice to have an elite DT, but let's shoot for top quartile first.

Phillips got beat out last year by a 5th round rookie. Incredibly talented physically, but he can only be counted on to occasionally flash, and be a rotational backup. Anyone who expects more is choosing to ignore his 3 years of play at Oklahoma and 4 years with the Dolphins

Anyone who is expecting "X player" to never break out is ignoring the countless players that turn their careers around in the 3rd or 4th year.

People called Paul Soliai fat and lazy and a waste of a roster spot until he came in and put it all together in year 4. And Phillips has actually showed more than Soliai did in his first few years.
