In real estate developer Stephen Ross’s mind, the Miami Dolphins are about to embark on a building project for the football team that mirrors the one previously and successfully undertaken at his Hard Rock Stadium
You remember that stadium rebuild that started in 2015, right?
Ross had an old, nearly obsolete facility in 2015 when he began to refurbish it at a cost of more than $500 million. And the project was ugly and dusty and uncomfortable that first year, as seating capacity actually went down.
And it was ugly and dusty and uncomfortable the second year although much less so. And by the time the project was complete in 2017, Hard Rock Stadium was reborn as a beautiful facility worthy of hosting Super Bowls and other grand events again.

I don't see any scenario where the D is worse, unless we trade Howard.
 
There definitely will be some talent walking out of the building and I wouldn't expect a splash in free agency to replace anyone. We might see only Fales and Falk as the QBs next year so I can see a step back. There is still a fair amount of talent and with a good new coach, they can be competitive next year but the real push will come later

Lmao...Ya like the last 2 decades have been a bundle of joy.

We are already up to your noses in pain when it comes to the Dolphins. And what a major change from a dysfunctional program proven year after year of little to no success with a future the same and going no where but the other side of the same dark hole, viewed as painful ?..... Is Hope painful ? Is needed and essential reality check painful ?

It won't happen over night but if the talk of rebuild plays out it is beyond overdue and we all should be extactic at just the realization by the organization....

Ya maybe painful but atleast with the potential of growth and improvement and not a continuation of this habitual Ground Hog Day... It's exciting to see something of substance and actual intelligence finally happening... What they do with this new critical approach should be more in question not them doing it...
 
This better be a true rebuild total up and down and not some half azzed measures like previous regimes by plugging and playing. If it is a true rebuild I’m willing to give them 3-5 years tops.

I think 3 years is plenty of time to build a perennial playoff team.

In 5 years we should be making deep runs.
 
I always look for positives with the Dolphins and always try to be optimistic about the team but I am prepared now for a rough season or two. I'm talking 4-12 seasons or worse. I just pray the management know what they're doing in the long term and we hire some good football people that will turn this franchise around and make us a Super Bowl worthy team. I guess it's time to build for the long term but I'll believe it when I see it.

My thoughts exactly. Cutting the older dead weight won’t make the team worse. If anything it gives them a better opportunity to be a good team quicker.

IMO, Wake is a different case. He was not a FA rental, at the tail end of his career.

Miami is the only team he has ever played for. For many of those teams, he was really the only top tier player on the roster, therefore becoming a fan favorite.

I good organization does not treat Wake the same way it treats a Branch, or a Kilgore.
 
why do people on here and espn act like we finish dead last. with right coach and qb we could be right back in playoff next yr. we need find coach to take us to next level playoff. dolphins need be real on what they need. this is must next yr... 1 OG Starter, CB, starter add run stopping dt, DE and qb in draft or free agent. let all qb go except qb from wsu

If we can find the right coach/QB combo all of the other pieces will fall into place. In today's NFL IF you get that right, your team becomes a playoff team in 2-3 years. Unfortunately finding that combo has eluded us for 30 years.
 
Dump all the salary decline all the vet options and trade players for draft assets if we are really in a full rebuild.

And of course you better hit on your qb draft pick whoever that is or your basically screwed.

Grier is front and center now its his head on the block.
