Fail forwards lol
I think Murray will be gone unless he has strong inclination to play baseball. If he does, then I wouldn't draft him. But if he is going to play football, he's not available at 13. I like the guy and think he'll be a success in the NFL.Agree, but what do you think happens if Murray or Lock is there for the taking at #13?
True. This makes Xavien Howard your most valued asset. You will never part with a top tier LT because it's difficult to replace. Top corners are needed but if you keep drafting them you play the odds. The rest of our draft picks are irrelevant (Except the DTs) be cause of their performance. Drake could net you a 4th rounder if you sucker in some dumb team. The problem is when you dump vets for low draft capitol return it doesn’t get you anywhere in terms of leverage to move up for your qb. Day 3 pick returns aren’t gonna do it.
We are gonna need to trade high value assets on rookie contracts to get real draft capitol return.
If I got to move up for a qb if and when I do those day 3 pick returns are nothing but throw ins in trade.
Unless I’m just gonna give away my next 2 first rounders too in the process. For qbs people are gonna hold you to the fire in trade
Well then the actions better reflect it. No mixed signals here.
Dump money and acquire draft capitol
The only first contract that may bring high value pick is X and I doubt they trade him. This team wont need additional high round assests to get a top pick because they’re not going to win many games next year. The problem is when you dump vets for low draft capitol return it doesn’t get you anywhere in terms of leverage to move up for your qb. I think a top five pick is definitely in the realm of possibility. Number one wouldnt surprise me as long as they cut thill and don't half *** this thing with a Flacco or Foles signing.
The way to tank is by trading away all vets that are 30 or above for picks. Don't expect high picks in return for most of them but that way you get rid of some horrible contracts like Jones, Branch,Tanny and Kiko if you can find takers.
Forget about Gore, Wake,Hayes or Sitton coming back.....what would be the point? They'd only be taking snaps away from the younger guys.
You have to see what you can get for guys like Stills too.
The big question is, do you trade Howard? One of our best players but he'd also bring the most in return. Of course you'd be looking for two Corners instead of one.
All the others should be easy decisions tho if you really want to build from the bottom up.
