Rough start for Joe McKnight

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 30, 2010 11:42 AM ET
A player's performance on the first morning of his first NFL minicamp probably isn't a very good predictor of what kind of career he's going to have. Which is good news for Jets rookie running back Joe McKnight.

According to tweets from various reporters on the scene, McKnight's morning included missing a pair of catchable balls, dropping a pass while falling awkwardly and needing trainers to work on both calves because of cramps.

And, to top it all off, McKnight threw up on the field.

As we noted in today's one-liners, McKnight has been encouraged to follow veteran running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene around "until they shoo you away." By puking on the field, McKnight may have found a way to make Tomlinson and Greene shoo him away quickly.
I'm lovin all the good news I'm hearing about coming outta NY. Mini camps haven't even started yet. Started earlier than I thought. lol

AFAIC, locusts could embed themselves in all the Jests' nostrils, and it wouldn't be enough. However, I wouldn't get too excited about 1st day disappointments, IMO, they're mostly meaningless.

Incoming one year suspension?

Whoops, wrong thread.

And how about the report on Santonio Holmes in that he had to be escorted off a Plane in Pittsburgh today.

I know right...... thats what I'm sayin. I know that this particular subject isn't a big deal, but I'm a lover of good news, and bad news from Jets camp is good news for me!!!!!!!:hi5:

yes lets not open our mouths or our fins might get embarrassed way worse then the jets so dont jinx us.

Really? you are posting reports from the first day of rookie mini camp? has it come to this? Come on bpackers- you are bettre than this.

Yes we're posting it, because it's hilarious and looks bad for the Jets.

Nobody has concluded McKnight's career. We just love the bad publicity.

it doesn't look bad for the Jets at all, you are trying to deflect off another embarrassing PR move by the dolphins. Whether Mcknight or any rookie looked great or looked bad is meaningless at this point.

If you say so but I'm not the member of the national media that reported the thing.

You're off base on this one. This news is out there, nobody on here had to dig for it or reach for it or anything like that, and it's funny to us. Sooo...I'd do your cryin' elsewhere. :)

The jets beat writer wrote the info on his tweet. Miami fans are only commenting on the news. boo hoo for jet fans.

It was a tweet from one of the Jets beat reporters, we live in an age where if someone goes to the bathroom it's posted. It's asinine to take anything out of a mini camp- good or bad.

It's probably funny to you since it takes heat away from the drunk driving, inappropriate question asking dolphins who haven't seen a playoff win in a decade.
