Most likely use of 2006 1st round pick

2006 1st rounder used for:

  • Total voters
    241
  • Poll closed .
with the 2006 pick the Miami Dolphins select MARCUS VICK QB VT!!!!!

I AM STARTING IT UP RIGHT NOW DOLPHINS PLEASE DRAFT THIS GUY IF HE HAS HALF OF THE TALENT HIS BROTHER HAS WE WILL BE A SERIOUS CONTENDER NEXT YEAR.

The only QB that is worth a 1st rounder at this point is Leinart, and we probably won't be in position to take him. I'm fairly confident we're going to take a left tackle.

Talent isn't what a NFL team needs to worry about when it comes to Marcus...it's the reefer and his penchant for screwing up. I'm not saying he is as talented as Michael is, but I'm more certain that he has enough talent to play in the league than I am in his ability to keep himself out of trouble.

I think Marcus Vick will be interesting to follow this year. This guy has blinding speed, and alot of potential.

I think it's likely a DT will be what Nick is after next year. That said, I believe Nick believes in value drafting and that he'll do his best to move around to make the value curve and the need line match before taking anybody if he can.

I don't think it's going to be T because Houck will have this unit playing quite well. A LT project in the 3rd or 4th would probably be a wise investment, though.

I don't think it's going to be QB because I think this team may just end up with the loser of the Brees/Rivers battle or with another QB already in the league. If that doesn't happen, I still don't think it's likely Miami will have the ammo to move up to get ML. I doubt anybody else is really going to be worth a first rounder.

I don't think it's going to be S because safeties usually don't command that sort of pick unless they're Roy Williams or Sean Taylor (just look how Taylor has thanked the Redskins for the selection, too).

I don't think it's going to be CB because Poole will be back and because this team tends to have a good track record of getting value talent there.

I don't think it's going to be DE because we seem to be fine at that position. Ditto for WR and RB.

I don't think it's going to be TE because it's possible to get a good one in the 2nd or 3rd even if we need one.

I think LB is a very interesting possibility if there's a real impact player available.

Could you take your "annoying" setting down about 5 notches the next time you post? Your ? and ! keys are working fine, so there is no need to lay on them. I won't even get started on the caps.

Now...to Young. He's not a senior, so he isn't certain to be in the draft. Beyond that, he didn't show me enough to make him a 1st rounder unless I speculate he plays better this year than he did last year. I'm not the guy you responded to, but I support his apparent position on Young.

Depending on how Aj plays I would think come next off season, that we will wanting to pick a QB--unless AJ proves otherwise

Yes I have. I'm 99% positive you haven't, judging by your post. He's no different from Matt Jones (expect skin color). Is Matt Jones playing QB?

That's a bit harsh. Young has a couple of years to become more like a legitimate NFL QB, and I like him to make it happen. I don't see him playing WR/TE in the league when he comes out.

JUST SAY NOOOOO...I dont want another pot smoker on our team with charachter issues. Take Omar Jacobs of Bowling Green.

What about that Hackney kid ?? Ive only seen a few clips but he sure as hell had a strong arm and was mobile.

Yup, he's good. He's my sleeper for the draft. Everyone should keep an eye on this kid. Very good arm, athletic, quick release and he's built like a linebacker. He just needs to improve his accuracy.
