My friend, who plays for the Bengals..

Said he'll probably run a very "smart defense", will probably blitz a lot, but won't be overly complicated. Will expect guys to win their 1 on 1 matchups and the safeties will be expected to cover a lot too (which would explain the Marshall pickup). Said he probably won't run much zone at all, and no crazy zone blitzing schemes. Just all 11 guys doing their individual assignments and putting guys in the right place at the right time to make plays.
That's pretty much it. Like I said, nothing crazy.

The part about players enjoying playing in Miami is very good to hear... that's how I perceived it as well, unlike all these insane Ireland hating flame spouting blow hards who just continually bash our front office over and over and over...

Yea, I didn't even ask him how he would feel about it, he just said he wanted to unprovoked. Once he said that, I should have asked him if he hears bad things about our front office, but if that were the case I'm sure he wouldn't be interested in playing in Miami. Like I said, I didn't want to blow him up with questions about football when he was in town to have a good time with friends.
As far as who he is, he's a 2nd string defensive player who plays a lot of special teams, but did play defense a little bit and made a couple big plays for them. I'd prefer not to say who he is on a national internet forum.

Well that was dumb of you. Would've been a great opportunity to get some insight on that.
 
Some of you can mock me all you want, or mock others when they have something interesting (or what I perceive as interesting) to share. I don't need to make up lies and false claims on a phins forum to feel cool. I just figured any info I could get from somebody who played for Coyle would be interesting for us as phins fans to hear about. I have no problem keeping anything I hear to myself from now on.

Great info ... some of the ONLY actual info we've received ... in the sea of speculation & opinion!!

Will be interesting to see how your friend's knowledge plays out for our Defense ... man coverage is not our strength, especially for Safeties ... & our tepid rush gives receivers extra time to get open. I'll be watching!!

Don't let folks bug you ... now you see where alot of our football opinions come from ... Looneyville!! lol
 
You have the opportunity to potentially get some insights from within the "club". That's going to be really interesting ... please share if you do and don't mind the naysayers.
 
So is your friend Rey Maulaluga or Keith Rivers? They are the only 2 LB's on the Bengals that have been there 3 Years.

Rivers has played 4 years and Maulaluga 3 Years. So are you telling me it's Rey Maulaluga?

All other LB's on team are 2 years or under!
