The point is not to get specifics, it's to get general knowledge and information on this type of injury. Obviously none of us are going to be getting specifics on this injury, but it's just nice to be informed.

Unless you see Nails running and blocking on the field yourself, take those reports with a grain of salt.

Not sure how much it helps, but I pulled this from WebMD.com:

Surgery is often used to reattach the ends of a ruptured Achilles tendon. Compared with casting, Achilles surgery provides the best chance of preventing the tendon from rupturing again.

The results of surgery for an Achilles tendon rupture are best when the surgery is done soon after the injury. Recovery from surgery may take months and requires a rehabilitation program to help heal and strengthen the tendon.

* Flexibility exercises.
* Strengthening exercises.
* Endurance activities.
* Coordination and/or agility training.

Recovery is variable and depends on how severe the tendon injury is and whether you complete a program. Dedicating time and energy to your rehabilitation program will speed your recovery and help prevent future injury.
