Name 1 QB of the Fins.......

I personally don't love Sanchez as a starter long term, but I have to admit he has games where he is Drew Brees like in his decision making.

I don't know if it is a function of the play calling and OL, or Sanchez himself. What I don't like about him is his arm. I am not sure I would want that arm on a cold weather team.

As to Chad P, he didn't do to well against Ryan's blitzes in the playoffs. Chad P did good things for us, but in the first 3 games last year he seriously limited our offense.

You know what I want to know? Does Chad H have the ability to call audibles? I was thinking about it last night and I can't remember him calling one. It looks to me like his only option on blitzes is to throw the hot routes.

In terms of long term potential, there is no one on the list. You can say that Sage never got a fair shot, but he's bounced around enough to question that. And I am no Fiedler lover (and would NOT rather have him) but you guys who hate him need to give him his due. That Norv Turner year he looked pretty good until the thumb injury. That derailed his Miami career. He was never the same. In fact, I think it was the same Denver game that turned Chambers into a mouse in the middle of the field.

If by leading to a title game you mean riding the coattails of the rest of the team to a title game. Going by your logic, Pennington's a better QB than Sanchez, which I would agree with. I've seen all but one Jets game. Sanchez is still a below average QB at best. Never have I seen so many picks being dropped. Looks like that luck ended against the Broncos.

I'm not going to say it's lucky, but teams that lose in total yards, rushing yards, passing yards, turnover +/- AND play on the road are, iirc, 3/133 or something like that...I remember it was an absurd stat.

They all suck, you compare garbage to garbage, even better garbage is still garbage.

Christ, this horse is beaten to death, but I'll throw in just b/c its late and I'm procrastinating moving on to the next day of work. Pennington is without a doubt the best we've had. We all hope and pray that Henne will turn into something b/c the truth is, we have nothing else to fall back on and we all know it. If we're just talking about who's was the best qb for a period of the season or christ, even currently, without regard for likelihood of a future injury or longevity in general, Pennington is the guy. Take away the arm strength which while important, but not the end all and be all as can be seen by past flops with huge arms like Russell or Grossman, there's not one thing that Pennington isn't better then Henne at. There's so much more to being a qb then just arm strength and Pennington has Henne beat on them all.

W/ a guy like Marshall to throw to he could beat us w/o a doubt. There's no doubt as of today Chad Pennington has been a much better QB than Chad Henne, that doesn't mean you make the switch. Chad P is always an injury risk and Miami is doing the right thing looking toward the future w/ Henne but Chad P is the better QB.

I would never want FrankenHenne as my QB but he's proven he can be a serviceable QB in this league.

I love Chad but in one try Mark led us to the Title game, a place we never reached w/ Chad as our QB.
Junckie, this reeks of homerism. I don't know why you have such a hard time acknowledging that the Jets were lucky to reach the play offs. There is nothing wrong with luck in winning a game. But again, to say Sanchez "led" you is a joke. He is extremely over rated playing on a team loaded with talent. Does he have potential? Sure. But his accuracy is a question mark and one of the intangibles he is missing is the ability to not get rattled. That alone will hinder him from ever being a great QB.

I can't blame you though because some of the foolish fans in here slobber all over Sanchez because he looks pretty in the pocket. :puke:

ill take penny over sanchez any day of the week and twice on sunday.i just saw that mark sanchez has the lowest completion ratio in the nfl out of starting qbs.u would think with mark not having a great arm he would at least be accurate but i guess not.

As we know comp % is the be all end all stat which is why mark has led us to the best record in the NFL.

what are we girls now??? lol...what dude uses that expression

anyways...you tried to tell me that the jets had a guy in a lot of ways like wake...an underutilized olb who was a pass rush specialist only...and i tried to tell you comparing wake and whatchamacallit on your team was laughable at best...

and it is...

Should I curse at you?

Find the posts where I said Westerman was just like Wake. I think you have me confused w/ someone else or you are just trying to deflect.

I think you are mistaken, there is something called defense that actually WINS games. As long as the Jets have that kind of defense they will be contenders, just as Miami was with Taylor, Thomas, Surtain, Madison, Bowens, Buckley, Marion and Ongunleye. What matters when evaluating a QB, is what can they do with the talent they had around them, for instance Marino made Fryar, Ingram, Drayton, Byars and other players look like first ballot hall of famers, on the opposite side ... you have Palmer doing poorly with to future Hall of famers as WR's and a very promising young TE. Sanchez has a top 10 receiving TE on Keller and Henne has Fasano who is a good overall TE but not so skilled with his routes and speed. Braylon, Santonio & Cotchery are very talented WR's and LT although not younger anymore, has been one of the best receiving RB´s on the league, put those players with someone like Manning, Cutler, Brees, Rodgers, Brady or Rivers and you can bet they will be doing much better than Sanchized is doing. Sanchez is #25 in yards per game, #30 in completition percentage, #19 in first down %, and #29 in average yards per pass. Henne is #13, #11, #5 and #15 on those same categories.

In case you haven't notcied our defense hasn't been very good this year, we are winning as much w/ our O as w/ our D and maybe more w/ our O.

You guys were never contenders w/ those defenses of the late 90s-early 00s b/c those D's always choked, you never even came close to a title game so how could you have been true contenders?

All those stats are great but they only tell part of the story. Anyone who truly knows this game understands Sanchez has been significantly better than Henne this year. The difference in our meeting a few weeks back was at QB. Our QB led us down the field milking the clock and leading us to a TD to go up 8 and your QB couldn't lead you back for the TD despite having plenty of time and a 1st down around the 10.

He played the best football of any rookie QB in modern postseason history. We would not have made that run if he was playing up and down like he had in the reg season.

Absolutely a healthy Chad would be better than Mark right now. I wouldn't make thre trade b/c we are winning while still developing our QB for hopefully thre next 10-12 years.

I don't know what Jet games you were watching but if you think Sanchez is below average I question your football knowledge.

you probably are not aware that every week they have to make sure chad p's shoulder needs the oil can.

I said HEALTHY, I never said Miami should be starting Chad P. I said he's a better QB if he is healthy and he's the best you have had since Marino.

Whether we got lucky or not(if teams like Miami didn't choke we wouldn't have made it) is irrelevant. Once in postseason the man played good football and was a big part in leading us to the Title game and he has carried that play over to his 2nd year.

The only homerism here is the Miami fans that are saying Sanchez isn't having a good year. He's been one of the top 10 QBs in this league this year. That may not continue but so far he's been very, very good.

Top 10 in what?

Top 10 overall through 6 weeks, that doesn't mean he's top 10 permanently but name me 10 QBs playing better than Sanchez has this year?

Romo, Brees, both Mannings, Schaub, Rodgers, McNabb, Orton, Ryan and Flacco and the list goes on. I include Ryan and Flacco because you will come back with some BS about how the Jets are 5-1 making Sanchez great.

He's in the middle of the pack at best. I do believe his accuracy is 29th. A top ten QB does not have accuracy that bad. That puts him in the company of Clausen and Anderson.

You have lost your mind.
