NFLPA tells Pouncey a suspension is not likely/Fins plan to pick up 5th year option

As much as i would prefer that he is traded to another team, it look like we will need him this year. We will have a 5th year college oline this year.

Couldn't care less about the weed. It's the harder stuff that concerns me. But yes, he hasn't been caught yet and it's all just "rumors." The rumors never seem to stop, but I'm sure there's nothing to that. Never is. Hell, I get grand jury subpoenas for random stuff all the time that I have nothing to do with.

I get all that, he got a subpoena for him being a close friend to Hernandez.

A buddy of mine was issued a subpoena, one of his friends was involved in drug runs that ended in a dirty crime. He had nothing to do with it, but was needs as a witness.

Good

Pouney was summoned to talk at court at a college friends trial... no charges

Talk of drugs, troubling but again no failed drugs test

Wasnt nice to Jonathan martin but no evidence so far of anything very serious like physical abuse - *shrug* threres a lot of bad guys in the nfl who do mean things

Letting a pro bowl player with his entire career ahead of him go because of the above would be so so dumb

Until Goodell says NO to suspending Pouncey I'll withhold judgement.

Its nice if they pick up his option. This would show that Hickey is alot smarter than Ireland in that he will not create more holes in positions where holes shouldnt be created, which is the typical Ireland MO. Also, not sure what the big deal was as it was clear that Pouncey was not getting suspended.

EXACUTLY , Pouncey is the best center in the entire NFL , and it would be plum stupid to let him walk over having a gun >?? ****t Ray Lewis Killed a guy and didnt mis a beat and here we are wanting to release a player of pounceys talent ? THAT WOULD BE REALLY STUPID ,and if that happen i would fire every body from the water boy up to ground zero ......... Pouncey isnt going anywhere and talk of it is not even a statement ....

The only real proof we have of his involvement in illicit activities is the Wells Report.

In other words, we have NO real believable proof.

This is a no brainer. Give him a 2 year trial run at a lower rate and then see where he's at. You can evaluate his development as a player, leader and man.

What would be smart is trading him now while he still has trade value instead of waiting until something does stick so the league can nail us with sanctions.

The chances of him getting suspended are highly unlikely.

So trading away a top C isn't a very smart move.

What??? Read the Incog-Martin texts (which weren't in the Wells report, btw), and if you still think Pouncey doesn't do drugs you may want to tone down your own usage.

You could well be right. Where everyone agrees that he's a good player, if he is the source of drugs for not just himself but other players on the team, then I can see our owner, Stephen Ross saying something like "Get what you can for him, but I don't want a drug distributor on my team". Ross still wants to talk to Jonathan Martin. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked him about the drugs. Were they given or did he pay for them? Who was the source? Why the references to molly at Pouncey's? Chances are that J-mart is eager to get his exit visa to another team. In the "exit interview" with Ross, he could well be very honest. He has no need to protect Pouncey or Incognito or for that matter Joe Philbin, Jim Turner, Jeff Ireland, Mike Sherman or Kevin O'Neill.
The extra year on the Pouncey contract could be that the team is committed to him long term or maybe it's to maximize what we can get for him in a deal.
