No love for Matt Moore?

WV, if Matt Moore was pretty ****ing good he'd still be the starter in Carolina.
He is an excellent backup and a average starter, the thing is taht he has reached his ceiling, Tannehill simply has more potential.
And more people are simply going to favor the drafted kid because well, thats how you get your franchise QB. You dont settle for journeymen.
Franchise QBs dont hit free agency, and when they do, this organization says "meh"

Brees, Manning, and Kurt Warner off the top of my head. Granted its rare as hell, Id venture to guess there have been just as many franchise QBs hit FA in the last 10 years as ones drafted outside of the 1st round.

No one is arguing that Matt Moore is a franchise QB anyway. Hell, few people would argue he should start. Im all for starting Tannehill. Im just saying Matt Moore gets a lot of **** around here for a guy thats pretty ****ing good. Not only that, people love the bums we draft no matter how badly they play.

Matt Moore has made every team he's started under center better that year. Period.
An argument can be made that no QB for us has done more having less to work with.

Please don't get the lynch mob started again. They lurk at every corner with their torches and pitchforks.

Matt Moore is a Back up. We start him we go 5-11 Sorry I'm looking for the next Dan Marino. XD. So happy Tannehill looks like a lock to start Week 1

what are the winning powerball numbers this week Nostradamus?

Moore is just average...There is no deep playoff run potential with him...

Basically starting him is a wasted season.

for future reference, here's a fins smiley you are probably not aware of:
:imho:

There's no future with Moore. He's just a solid back-up. We're not making the playoffs this year. I'm ready to start the future now.

If he's the 12th best-rated QB in the NFL, he's no back-up. In case you can't figure out the mathematics, 20 of the 32 starting--that's STARTING--NFL QBs rated out lower than MOORE--LOWER, get it? And that's w/o factoring in a totally unready HC and the COLUMBO-CAREY fiasco.

I got plenty of love for Matt Moore.......as a backup.

Did Matt Moore play well down the stretch? Yes.

But his QB rating doesn't include some of the bad sacks he took, nor does it account for his fumbles.

Yep. Im telling you right now we make the playoffs last year if Moore had started from week 1 like I said. But, stupid Sparano had to start Henne. I think we could make the playoffs this year with Moore starting. Id still rather start Tannehill, but I wouldnt be pissed if Moore started.

Well, that surprised me that the torches and pitchforks aren't out...lol. Seriously, it would have been nice to see what would've happened. I just think that Matt Moore is a competitor and makes plays. I watched him win games in the Pac 10 at Oregon State that they had no business winning - and I'm a Duck's fan for the record. I think there's a bit of truth to him making some bad decisions but overall he is a good game manager, and his teammates respect him. It remains to be seen how he'll do in the WCO, I don't think one game of preseason is fair to pull him and start RT. The pick he had was tipped, and our WR's dropped a few. I hope RT will be the real deal, too.

I remember last offseason I scoffed at signing this guy. I was mad we didn't bring in a veteran to really push Henne.

Moore changed my mind in a big way. Love his tenacity and leadership qualities. He has a fire to him that I admire ...... something which endeared Dan Marino to me back in the day. The other thing is Matt's ability to hit the deep ball. I'm not talking about the deep balls they list as 20+ yards on most stats. I'm talking the big down field play. It was something that's been missing from the offense for a very long time. Penny never had the arm for it and Henne never had the accuracy for it. Moore also didn't play down to bad teams like Henne did. Hence some of the butt whoopings we put on them. The thing he's lacking right now is the ability to shoulder the team vs. better competition ..... putting us over the top. That can come with more experience though, but he needs to prove it.

He's got a great canvas to work with and is still young. He never got to develop in Dallas because Carolina plucked him away ..... but Carolina quit on him admist their most blundering season ever back in 2010. Moore suffered a concussion in game 1. The team started to unravel. They fans were clamoring for Clausen. Moore had a torn labrum by Weeks 6-7 and was put on IR. I'm glad it all went down that way though, otherwise he would've never gotten a shot at picking him up. I just hope Philbin & Staff truly are looking at the whole QB situation fairly.

I think Matt Moore should start as long as we have a real shot at the playoffs....but if we don't make the Playoffs and don't find out what we have in Tannehill , then to me this season would be a big waste of time.

If we are here talking about who should start a year from now then, then Jeff is long gone " thank God " and Joe Philbin will be a dead man walking and out soon after.

Yep. Its amazing really. The guy has easily been the best QB we had start a decent number of games in a row since the beginning of the last decade. Scratch that, aside from Pennington.

Nevertheless, Im totally with you. Ive been wondering what gives around here. I guess its just because he wasnt drafted by the phins. Ive noticed anyone this team drafts is like the greatest ****ing player ever until they blow for about 3 years straight. People still think Clyde Gates should make the team.

You couldnt tell anyone Henne blew without getting bashed by a handful of people until 0-7 last year. John Beck.... GEEZ.

Its really amazing sometimes. Hell, you still cant convince some people that Pennington was legit and couldve started for us for about 3 or 4 more years had he not had a shoulder glued on with elmers.

Matt Moore is a good player. His problem is on occasional plays, instead of just looking bad, he will look real bad. Thing is, a lot of those plays there is no harm in it. The difference in missing by a little and missing by a lot is of no consequence. The guy makes just as many good plays as most good QBs do. Hell a 3 TD pass game this team hadnt seen in ages till Matt Moore last year. He's a good player. IMHO he's a decent NFL starter and about 15 teams in this league would be doing good to have him as their starter.

moore did solid last year but he would not start for half the teams in the league, hell he wouldnt start for many teams in the league. This isnt a knock its just the facts. If matt Moore is your starter your constanly looking o upgrade. Carolina drafted two qb's high , we drafted one high this year. Moore is a fringe starter good backup in the NFL.

Completely disagree. Heres a list of teams that would be doing themselves a favor if they could start Matt Moore this year.....

Buffalo
Cleveland
St Louis
Arizona
Seattle
San Francisco
Minnesota
Washington
Philadelphia
Kansas City
Tennessee
Jacksonville
Carolina
Tampa Bay

Hardly a fringe starter.

Your basing this on your opinion not facts. I guess you forgot Carolina had Moore and drafted Clauson and Newton back to back. I said wouldnt start i didnt say if I was owner of these teams I would start him or not. Many of these teams had their chance to sign Moore and passed . Now based on his play last year Im sure there is better opinion but he wouldnt start for all those teams get real
