The awesomeness of moore
2007 went undrafted and signed by Dallas who decided he was not worth a roster spot and cut him, put him on practice squad and picked up by Carolina. Started 3 games for carolina won 2 of them but was pretty bad with a 67 qb rating
2008 broke Fibula and was out all season
2009 actually played pretty well and was looked upon as favorite to start next season
2010 Drafted Clauson pretty high to be qb of future as sign of their faith in moore being so awesome then Moore went on to suck and was replaced by the just as bad Clauson
2011 Carolina thinks Moore is so awesome they decide that they need to draft another qb high and make no attempt to resign him. Moore goes to Miami and is a backup to not so great Henne, takes over and plays pretty good.
2012 New head coach thinks Moore is so awesome he drafts a qb with our first pick and signs David Garrard who moves up depth chart over the awesome Moore.
Moore played well last year and I hate to really put him down, but he isnt some awesome qb he has his good, his bad and he is far from a proven nfl starter
Oh here we go again. Moore was a developmental prospect like Pat Devlin when he was on the Cowboys. Difference being, Moore actually ASCENDED out of that rank, which Devlin has never done. The Cowboys wanted badly to keep Moore on the active roster, but instead they chose to only run with 2 QB's (Romo, Johnson) and kept Isaiah Stanback active as he played a slash role and also returned kicks on special teams. Carolina was quick to swoop in. Jerry Jones would later call the move a big mistake on his part. Moore showed he could play at the end of the 2009 season and was handed the keys for 2010.
Matt Moore, QB, Carolina.
This could easily have gone to Jonathan Stewart (28 carries, a franchise-record 206 rushing yards), but I've got to hand it to Moore, for a simple reason: He's a career benchwarmer, and in the past eight days he's beaten Super Bowl champions Brett Favre and Eli Manning by a combined 67-16, and he's done it by completing 68 percent of his throws (36 of 53) for 470 yards, with six touchdowns and no interceptions. "Some guys just need a chance,'' Steve Smith told me, "and this is Matt's.'' The only question is, what took John Fox so long to yank Jake Delhomme in the midst of the worst year of his life and play this wunderkind?

His first game in 2010 he suffers a concussion, they drafted Clausen and were already tinkering with him giving him reps in season and by Week 6-7 Moore was already on IR with a torn labrum.
That entire 2010 Panthers team was straight effin' garbage and if you mean to tell me Moore was ready to put them on his shoulders after such a short starting resume, you're out of your freakin' mind. You're also out of your freakin' mind if you think it was a good thing they drafted Clausen and started him, given the disaster he turned out to be. Carolina was in sheer disaster mode and they abandoned ship. Fox was a goner. Not Matt's fault. I love how you'll snidely refer to Moore's passing rating his first couple starts, but if that was Tanny we'd get the "patience" response. Convenient.
I love when you guys start this petty argument and start twising words .... in your case mocking people with the "awesome" comment. Nobody is saying that at the moment, but please continue on fighting the non-existent fight. Philbin wasn't sure of Moore in the WCO and that is completely natural. Moore was Sparano's guy in their quasi-vertical offense they were running with DaBoll. To have brought Garrard in is natural, although proving to be a bit of a waste of time now with the injuries (not to mention a guy who can't even remember plays in practice).
Moore played effectively last year. I'm personally impressed by it given the debacle he came from in Carolina. Again, the question is can he elevate his play to elevate the team vs. upper echelon competition. That remains to be seen.
