IDK, I have a problem with Turner at the 3. He's just too limited length wise and athletically to be really effective there. But then I look at the numbers, and he's actually more effective playing the 3. So what do I know...
I get some of the concern, but his game is more suited to the SF position. He doesn't have a great shot and likes to use his size and athleticism to drive to the basket. I think he can be effective at either the SG or SF, but that's just me.

I don't think his position matters that much, it's his ball dominance that really matters. He's completely useless off the ball. Yet has shown very good flashes in the few games Collins has allowed him to just take the ball and do his thing. Granted, he was given more freedom than he has been most of his career in the playoffs, and he sucked. Looking at the numbers, he spent most of the time spotting up, and that was also what he was the worst at. No surprise. He was at his best posting up, and taking handoffs. Surprisingly, he was 10 of 14 on off screens. So perhaps he's not completely useless off the ball. Perhaps they need to utilize that more to get him open for mid range shots and cuts to the basket. He actually improved his mid range shooting a good percentage after a summer with Herb Magee. If he can get that down packed, I'll feel much better.

you've got some problems with evan turners game...to me he plays more like a 2 guard but the range on his jump shot is way too inconsistent and frankly lacking to be honest...as a small forward i think he's gonna have trouble dealing with guys the same size and with better length beating them off the dribble and to the rim...i don't know if he's a legit 6 ft 7 and thats not just some made up number you might be able to get by with him at small forward but if he's really more 6 ft 5 no chance...

to me frankly he's really a tweener...not a good enough shooter or move without the basketball player to be a high end level 2 guard...he's got some back to the basket post up abilities but thats more against guys he's bigger then i don't think that will transition well to taking on small forwards on the block or the elbow pretty average physical athlete and explosion...inconsistent handle...i think i'd look to trade him...the only thing thats gonna get him to play at a consistent high level is to have real nba 3 point range on his jumper and i don't see it in the cards...he shoots a really flat ball

sullinger is intriguing but i don't know that he has big baby davis feet...davis has terrific feet...sullinger though is more crafty and i think uses his body better to get his shot off...both can hit the 15 footer but davis feet are outstanding...i don't know sullys damn crafty

i do like jeremy lamb...thats an underrated nba prospect imo...cool under pressure looks effortless has range on his jumper and great length...deceptive quickness to the tin...the length to contest shots...i like him

There's no doubt that he needs the ball in his hands. That's the only way that he's effective. There were some times during that Boston series where I would be going "what the hell are you doing ET?". There are times where he tries to force too many shots.

Was definitely forcing it vs. Boston. But when you're rarely the primarily ballhandler, I suppose you gotta jack up as many shots as you can while it lasts...

That's what I thought. But then looked at the numbers and realized he was actually better at the 3 than the 2. Who knows. He measured exactly 6'7" at the combine though.

It just seemed like there were better options at the time rather than him driving down the lane forcing up a bad shot. I'm sure that series was a good learning experience for him and for the team for that matter.

i think evan turner overall in the boston series was pretty bad...borderline lousy...had a few moments but by and large forced bad shots kept forcing em and kept thinking he could get his shot off at the rim with kg down there...

All I know is whenever there was a switch from Iggy to Turner Lebron's eyes lit up......it was just an embarrassing mismatch. Against him it was more that Turner didn't have the strength....get him on your shoulder and its over.

That is an unfair comparison, but I get what you're saying. There aren't many guys in the league that can stay in front of LeBron when he's in attack mode. And the difference between Iggy and Turner on the defensive end is a big gap to say the least.

Waiters is a good shooter, but nothing I'd go crazy over. He is a good player off the dribble who loves to attack the basket. He's a little small, so he would have to adjust to some of the 2 guards in the NBA. Wouldn't object if we brought him in either. Barnes I'm not sold on, he is a good athlete who doesn't seem to do one thing really well. A little overrated of you ask me.

Barnes is not a good athlete.....pretty mediocre by NBA standards. What hes got going for him is that hes tall and can shoot. He didn't shoot it particularly well last year but everything is there for him to be a solid shooter with NBA range. The unfortunate reality for Barnes is that hes never going to be the athlete that premier players are. Its like with Turner......you looked at him coming out of school and could already tell that the odds were against him ever reaching stardom.

What he has is a great work ethic, an already refined skillset, and size. Put him on a team where he can play next to someone like Wall or Curry or Irving and I think he'd excel.

that's a valid point...paul pierces eyes would light up also...i just don't think turner would be able to handle it...and you have to be able to play on both ends of the court in the playoffs...you can exchange points all you want but if you're getting used like a wet nap on d what difference does it make

With Turner's size and length he would be better suited to guard the SG because he seems to be a better perimeter defender than a low post defender. Even with that, his offensive game has to improve.

as for harrison barnes his height and range on his jump shot is gonna really help him at the next level...i no longer think he'll be a superstar by any means but i think he can be a double digit scorer...

oh so you're talking about having him guard the 2 on the defensive end and play the 3 on offense...ehhh...i don't see the harm in trying...evan turners gonna hate running off all those double screens etc though on defense...his shots flat enough his legs get tired and he'll be throwin up airballs

i guess this means iggy has been traded...

Not yet. I don't even think it's a foregone conclusion Turner would start at the 3 if he did to be honest. Collins and Turner hate each other enough I wouldn't be surprised at all if Turner is traded either. Especially with Collins being given an even bigger say on the roster when he signed an extension.
