Woj is the man as always. Love the trade. I'd say the Lakers are winning it all this year though. Didn't even get rid of Pau. ****ing stacked.

gotta dissagree with you on that r and r. lol... they will be in the finals but declaring them winners already?

The season could be shaping up to be an exciting one for the first time in ages. I'm probably most excited for Turner, not Bynum. With Iggy and Lou gone, he's finally going to have the ball in his hands, and he's finally going to be given his shot. I have high hopes for him as the dominant ball handler on the team. Jrue also needs to take the next step. He has all the tools. And he too will be given a larger role on offense. Time for him to put it together as well. He's obviously a terrific defender, I'd like to see a little more consistency from him on that end though.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the 4. Hawes at the 4 isn't such a terrible idea as before with a center of Bynum's caliber. He can spread the floor to give Bynum room to work. He's also a great passer which is useful as he can do a lot of the same things Gasol did with setting up Bynum. But starting Thad with a Center that can actually rebound and play defense doesn't sound bad either. And then there's Lavoy.

And then there's the 3. Does Wright start? Or Richardson? I prefer Wright.

All this assuming the trade actually happens since it's not official yet.
I'm really excited for this season as well. This team has so much young talent, and I can't wait to see how it meshes. Turner finally got some playing time last year, but like you said he's going to be a very important part of the backcourt. Do you think they might move Turner to the 3?

If it's not Turner, I'll be interested to see who starts at SF. Young is definitely a possibility, but I would still like him to come off the bench. I would like Wright to start because he can give this team good shooting from the outside, which we know Iggy couldn't do a whole lot when he was here.

Bynum will definitely be the center of the offense, but I'm curious as how they're going to use him. It'll actually be nice to have a center that can go out and give you 20 and 12 on a nightly basis.

Bring on the season.

If Kobe and Nash have great seasons left in their tanks - or at least great post seasons - they're going to be difficult for Miami. LA still has to get through OKC, though. That team still hasn't peaked.

They're certainly going to be the favorites. Not a lock by any means. But gun to my head, I'm taking the Lakers. I think they realize with Nash and Kobe, that window is going to close fast. But, they are coached by Mike Brown as well, and as we all know, he's a terrible coach.

I think it's possible if they want to start Richardson at the 2. I'd be shocked if Nick Young is starting.

As for Bynum, he's the best post player in the league. Nobody dominates in the paint offensively like he can. The size, the strength, the footwork, the athleticism and agility for a guy his size, the post moves, and the soft touch. He's a load down in the paint. Just give him the ball and let him work. Very few players can stop his hook shot, or keep him from getting close enough to dunk it or lay it in.

The key with Bynum aside from being healthy, is his focus. I think on a new team without Kobe and Pau, where he's going to be the star, only an hour away from is hometown, I think we'll see much more focus from him.

I think they are going to use Nick Young just like they did with Lou. He will be that good offense that comes off the bench.

With Bynum, I think they have the best center in the East. The only other great center is now in the West. I don't see many big men in the East that can go toe to toe with Bynum. For the first time in a while, this team actually has a dominant big man.

That was my one worry with Bynum. He has million dollar talent with a ten cent head. My thinking is that since it is a contract year for him, he'll want to play well to get his money whether it's from the Sixers or another team.

I'm not really worried about his immaturity. As long as it doesn't lead to suspensions, it doesn't really matter to me. I can deal with a couple boneheaded incidents like throwing up a random three pointer or some technical fouls. The only thing that would really hurt is throwing those elbows around and getting suspended again.

When healthy, he's the 2nd best center in the league. When focused, he's better than Dwight. When all is said and done, the Lakers could end up regretting the trade. As long as he stays healthy, he's easily a star player. He's the closest thing to a superstar we could've possibly gotten for Iguodala. It's a risk the team had to take if they wanted any chance of getting out of mediocrity without tanking.

He's been here a long time and has done pretty well in the draft for the mediocre picks we usually get. Guys like Lou, Thad, Iggy, Jrue etc. were great picks for where they were taken. He played a big role in our offseason to, which was arguably the best offseason we've had in a long time.
This offseason brought a lot of change. I think this team will have 8 new faces at the start of the season. I can't wait for the season to start, and the city of Philadelphia has the same excitement.

Hey PhinsPhan...will Bynum be ready for the regular season? I just hope he doesn't turn out to be damaged goods. I always worry about big man getting hurt and turning to junk.....like Sam Bowie, Greg Odom, Bill Walton, Yao Ming. Many big man have brittle bones and their feet, ankle and knees snap. I heard DiLeo is the new GM....I know he has been with the team a while. I think Bynum can be the best Center that Philly has had since Moses Malone. Looks like there won't be any Flyer's hockey anytime soon. The NHL can just fold....I am so mad with them always having these lockouts. Bettman should be fired. Our Phillies had a pretty nice 2nd half of the season, and almost got the last wild card, but they choked against the Astros. Next year should be interesting. I like RUF, and they should be able to add some free agents, probably resign Shane Vic to play in the outfield. Good thing we don't root for the Eagles huh??? :chuckle:

Bynum should be ready to go for the regular season. They're keeping him out now for precautionary reasons. They have said that if there was a real game, Bynum would be ready to go. With all the additions this team has made, I think they can be a top 4 seed in the East.

I'm so bummed about the NHL. I always like having them and the Sixers to watch from October to June months. I think they will have a shortened season starting somewhere around Christmas. I'd be surprised if they canceled the Winter Classic.

Considering how far the Phillies were out at one point, I'm not that mad with them not making the playoffs. After the Phillies hit their lowest point at 37-51, they went 44-30 the rest of the way. I'm real interested to see how they retool the team this offseason. If this team played like they did in the second half, they can compete for the division.

And use paragraphs next time.

Last I checked, Bynum was supposed to be going to Germany for that knee treatment seemingly every single athlete is getting these days. That was supposed to happen this month if I'm not mistaken, so that could be it. He'll be ready for the season though.

He had the procedure done last month. During a workout he said to the coaches that he didn't feel right, and they found he had a bone bruise in that knee. Still, they are keeping him sidelined for precautionary reasons.
