i think it doesn't speak well for vucevic if hawes is getting resigned for 2 years at that money...at least not in the short term...that said who else on that roster can play center???

Lavoy Allen who just got resigned. That's pretty much it.

Are they really that desperate to keep that draft pick? You amnesty Brand for Nick Young of all people? Lou did a better job taking a bunch of jumpers and playing no defense.

While they are similar players, I like Young's size of 6' 6" than Lou's 6' 1" frame.

get ready for nick young to jack up shots...the guys got no conscience when it comes to what is and what isn't a good shot...and forget about playing any d

Except Young can actually hit spot up threes while Lou can't, which we desperately need regardless of how much of a jack he is. As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a bad 1 year deal.

I actually like the signing of Young. To me, he's a better version of Lou Williams.

Who do you think the Sixers will target with the extra money after cutting Brand?

I don't know about better, but certainly fills more of a void being Lou was only a 33 percent spot up shooter from 3 compared to 41% for Young. He effectively replaces Lou and Meeks with something we have more of a need for. Anything other than a 1 year deal, I'd hate it. But you can't really complain about 1 year deals.

As for Brand, I have a feeling we're targeting Kris Humphries or Ilyasova.

I still don't get it. If the objective is to lose, then go all in.....trade Igoudala, dump Brand, and roll with the youngsters. If they want to win, then why get rid of Brand for a couple short term deals with lesser players? I could understand buying him out if you had a shot at Deron Williams or Gordon or Hibbert or maybe even Batum.

Doesn't make any sense to me. But do have fun with the joyride that is Young. Probably the only player in this league that could manage to convince himself that he was better at creating his own shot than Chris Paul.

Cutting Brand makes room for the young guys, as you just stated in your post. No point in having Brand when the 76ers love Moultrie and want him to get PT from day one. Plus they may go after Humphries or Ilyasova, but I personally hope not. Maybe Ilyasova, but just not a fan of Humphries. I'd prefer to just roll with Moultrie who's a terrific athlete and rebounder.

That's why I like Young a little more. Young is a better stand still shooter, but the main difference between the two is that Lou is better at driving to the basket.

Humphries is someone who can bring a good inside presence. Ilyasova I don't know much about, but I wouldn't mind bringing him in.

Humphries is a tough, gritty player down low. But for 10 mil a year, no thanks.

Exactly, way too much money for that kind of guy. Maybe bring in a guy like Ilyasova. How much would he be worth?

He'd probably ask about the same, and to be honest, I think I'd do it. I like Ilyasova. Terrific rebounder. Terrific shooter. Can run the floor. Good athlete. Good finisher in the paint on pick and roll, cuts, etc. Very solid post defender, though not much of a shot blocker. Just not a whole lot of negatives about his game. We'd still need to get a shotblocker at center though. Wonder if the staff has any interest in Javale McGee who'd be a perfect fit. Doubt Collins would want to put up with his stupidity though, then again they did just sign Nick Young.
