If not, then why wouldn't they just start every preseason game with 3rd stringers?

Are you guys freaking clueless. It was so obvious that Gase didn't want to show his best red zone plays in a meaningless pre-season game. Do you really think they would have not thrown the ball into the end zone if this was a regular season game?

Every other team is using pre-season to get in sync. If you don't practice your plays in pre-season then when are we supposed to do it? Are we going to sit here again excusing shitty performances on offense "oh we need until November to get in sync" while every other team somehow is in sync?
We must be the only team who "hides" those mega-secret blockbuster plays in pre-season because we do not want to show "our hand" of that crazy-complicated-up-tempo-5-yard-dink-and-dunk-vanilla offense.
