They don’t want Ryan to take 7 step drops and see a solid rush. I can only remember 1 so far, and derby got the penalty on that one.

They obviously have a plan to ease Ryan into game speed.

I don’t love it personally. I would rather let him play real ball and sink or swim. But it is clearly a plan.
