Tito wasn't exactly a non-factor in the popularity rise of MMA either. I didn't say I had anything against Dana, or Zuffa, but I've read alot of stuff suggesting he's not very well liked in the MMA world. But like I said, he's in the driver's seat so it doesn't much matter at this point.

I can't wait to see that fight.
There are alot of guys who put just as many butts in the seats. Tito need UFC alot more than they need him.

yet not nearly as much of a factor as he thinks he was.
during the meteoric rise of mma and the UFC, Tito spent those years hiding the belt, while ducking Chuck Lidell...until he lost it to randy 03' anyway. tito is decent i guenss, at convincing some people that he IS/WAS mma. he's 15-5 with recent wins coming against ken shamrock(3) a Forrest Griffin (aT.U.F.er) and PAtrick Cote.(a 185'er) noone else since. thats noone of significance since 02, while mma was still in rather obscurity.
i used to like Tito, but he knew he couldnt beat Chuck so he ducked him, lost to Randy anyway, and thus was a cowardly champion...and I really disliked him for being a rather public figure for the sport, and dating a porno star while the sport struggles with image issues and stereotypes as it is. his career couldve been more than what its become.

I think one point that may be overlooked was Tito's effect on the lockerroom. If other fighters were openly complaining to Dana about Tito, he may be doing the right thing by his fighters to chastize Tito. Personally, I have NEVER bene a fan of Tito's. I think he benefitted from several rule changes that were made to help make him, and others like him into stars.
Personally, I would take Royce Gracie, Dan Servern, Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock, Chuck Liddell, Randy Coutoure, Don Frye, Marc Coleman and others in their prime over Ortiz.
And I agree with Dana, having to have a business meeting with that vapid porn star must be mind numbingly bad.

meh..Liddell vs Jardine? I don't like this fight at all. Chuck SHOULD destroy him. I'd rather see Chuck fight Michael Bisping or Forrest before we see him destroy Jardine. Jjardine got his *** handed to him in his last fight.
