*Official NFL Free Agency thread*

This thread has become so negative. We can't sign everyone. Collins might want to go to Cincinnati and be reunited with his old LSU teammates and Cowboys coach. Adams only wanted to go to Las Vegas. Just because they're available, doesn't mean they're available to everyone.
This thread should get negative. It’s the same old free agency every year. We’re flush with cap space and sign a bunch of middle tier players.

This is exactly why I was okay with getting Amari Cooper. We need elite talent on this roster. I don’t even mind overspending a bit to have a playoff roster for a change.

I love what Vegas has done in FA. Now that is being aggressive!!

Yes

2 big splashes

The improved light years over what we did with 1 signing and a freaking trade.

We signed 15 flipping players.

2 moves and have significantly improved their team more than us.

While we are watching the in the playoffs already wondering who we are going to draft, atleast we can take solace knowing we didn't over pay for Adam's or Wagner or Armstead etc.

We can all have a party and talk about what big name FAS we want next year, but not at "that" price of course

OT- TBA
LG- Williams (good signing) ( Starter )
C- TBA
RG- Eichenberg ( ? ) or Kindley ( ? )
RT- Hunt ( Starter )

Any way we look at it, there is only 2 legit starters on the OL atm. We really can’t evaluate decisions made by the front office until after free agency & the draft. Enjoy the process guys!

We don’t want them to sign everyone. We want them to sign players that actually give them a better chance of catching up to the 8 teams that are better than them.

Brennan Scarlett? What the ****?
This times 1,000!!!! I am not sure we should put that number of teams at 10.

To me as it stands we have,
LtT ?
LG Williams
C Deiter
RG Hunt
RT Eichenberg

I'm not saying that's what I want just seeing what we have

It's always amusing to read the posts where FH posters rend their garments and squeal because they didn't get new toys... They say, "But Daddy, those other ten teams just spent a fortune... why can't we?"

Umm... but Violet, will all ten of those teams win the Super Bowl?

No Daddy.

Then... didn't (at least) 9 teams just fail?

Umm... No Daddy, I want it now. I want that shiny toy!

There there, Violet, here... breathe into this paper bag.

Keep posting that he could have been gotten cheap. That's not the case at all.
He is under contract for a Hell of a lot less than the 17-20 mil some of these guys are going to want. I believe he was at 10 mil on his deal? That is why we should have given up as little as a 6th round pick. What part is not correct on that?

Miami so far have done well.

Signed

Gesicki- ( excellent move )
Ogbah- ( deserved it )
Williams- ( Starter, upgrade )
Edmunds- ( upgrade )
Mostert- ( upgrade if heathy)
Wilson - ( upgrade )
Bridgewater- ( upgrade )
Special Teams dude- ( I have no clue )
Fullbacks- ( I have no clue )

Trust the mad genius ( Mcdaniels ) ?

That's all good so far, just go and get a tackle now and if we're lucky a center and I'll be very happy

If we miss out on the tackles, I hope we go after a linebacker like Collins or Wagner

Give me a break, man. The purpose of free agency is to sign players that immediately improve your team at a rate that's faster than the teams you are trying to catch up with. We aren't close to the level where one shiny new toy will put us in contention, but at least on paper, we are falling further behind the truly good teams in the AFC. The better teams in the AFC are lapping us talent-wise right now.

FA has several different purposes, not just the one you want.

One of the ways that FA can be used is to fill holes and shop for undervalued players (like when we got Ogbah), while you build the bulk of your team through the draft. We've gone this route. I knew we would; I even suggested as much repeatedly before FA began-- knowing full well that the crybaby squad would scream every time that an expensive player went to someone else.

It was an easy prediction, like that water would be wet.
