At this point, we have approximately 14m in cap space remaining and will need approximately 8m (or so) to sign our draft class... so 6m left.

Cutting Davis, Hurns, and either Fejedelem or Carter would return about 6m.

So... about 12m in real space.

Our 51st player on the cap will make about 1m this year, so any players making a million or less can be ignored.

We have room for one ONE more player (or two bargains).

I'm seeing 16.5m, but your point still stands.

There are other players that could be released too. Gaskin, for example, would free up 2.5m with almost no dead money.

If they want to sign a high dollar FA, they easily could. They may be done for now though. There will also be solid players (not necessarily top tier) available in the second FA period.

Well we can easily create a lot lot more. We probably won’t, but all other teams do when it comes to signing important players.

A couple restructures. A couple cuts. And magic, we have 20 million.

There's still a bunch of great players unsigned, and I get the sense that there's not that many teams left that have a ton of money to spend.

I hope we get a couple of them, we need at least one starting OT.

And $5-10mm for carryover

Otc is listing 16.5, but Scarlett and the SF WR are not yet listed, so I used an approximation.

Gaskin would free up about 1.5, the next man up on the top 51 would chew up the other 1m.

And less space in 2023, but yes, that is the next step.

Which players do we have that you would restructure? Whose money would you be willing to guarantee as a bonus to gain more space this year and kick the can down the road till next season?

So are you guys saying we’re out of the running for Armstead and what might be a 22m annual deal or could we get creative and back load it/cut players

No, we could still sign him... giving him a large bonus and a small first year salary would do it, but that would be it without doing a bunch of can kicking.

To me Jerome Baker is an easy one since he is still young and very good. If overthecap is right, it looks like a restructure on him frees up 8.38 million.

I would also think about Xavien which is another 8 plus for a good young player. Though his injuries adds risk to that.

Need to take risks sometimes. We have very clean books and where have clean books gotten us?
