Personally, I'd like to fire them all... Agree or Disagree?

Why, if you gave him credit for turning the team around last year, you should also blame him for the team's down fall this year, it have to go both ways.

Same as, if you think our team's down fall this year is due to difficult schedule and injuries and HC should not be blamed, than, last year our success was due to a soft schedule and got lucky with injury....and HC should not be given so much credit.

Again, it goes both ways.

I do give him the blame for this year. As HC, that's his role. However, when what has been presented to me is in two years; One AFC East title, and at least playing meaningful games, being in contention until the last week of the following year, I'm going to give him at least one more year.

Are there serious issues I think need to be addressed? Absolutely. We will see what he does to fix them in year 3. If I see no improvment in the team and the record, then we can talk about releasing him.

Bottom line is that between two years of improved play over previous years, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for another year. I don't think we can afford Henning for another year though. It's Tony's call though. It's also his job.

TENN and PITT are from mediocre. Bad years, yes...but far from mediocre.

And the child here is the one who continues to chide and name call others....look in the mirror for that person please.

Those teams are decent at best, please. How low are your expectations for football teams? The Steelers went 9-7 and the Titans are 8-8.
Your hero Bill Parcells says you are what your record says you are.
MEDIOCRE... And I guess I'm the only one tired of losing to the pitiful Texans every season.

There you go again, My Hero?

PITT mediocre I guess if you say so. I guess even MEDIOCRE franchises get SB's every now and then.

TENN mediocre I guess if you say so. To bad they have been and continue to be a very physically imposing defense with a offensive line that helped a RB put up solid numbers in back to back years.

You called these team MEDIOCRE in a previous post, now you call them decent in this post. I guess a few mins and a post later puts them up a notch?

You expected too much from a team that has too many stop gaps and too much youth in the secondary. MIA is getting there, and a NFL franchise with the huge turnover from a 1-15 team doesn't happen in 2 years. Maybe on Madden, but not in the real world.

Honestly, going into the year I expected to be about 8-8 or 9-7, so 7-9 is only a slight disappointment in that regard. However, I'm really upset about how we lost games, when we lost games, and who we lost to. Far too many times this season did this team 1. Not show up to play 2. Blow leads in embarrassing fashion and 3. Choke away games in critical spots.
All of that is coaching! We clearly had the talent to stand toe to toe with the Colts, the Saints, the Titans, the Steelers, the Pats so on and so forth. We blew those games by killing ourselves, shooting ourselves in the foot, and playing miserable defense. That type of thing is on the coaching staff man.

Bottomline is, I'm sick of excuses, I'm sick of the bull ****, I'm sick of losing, and I'm sick of the Rebuilding and "MAYBE NEXT YEAR" mentality. It's all loser bull**** and I'm tired of it. It's clear to me that we're just not a well run organization.

You're a child. Stop being a Dolphins fan because I don't like coaching decisions and front office moves? You're right though WE DID A GREAT JOB ALL YEAR DIDN'T WE???
It was especially awesome when we were 7-6 and proceeded to CHOKE AWAY OUR PLAYOFF HOPES AT HOME AGAINST MEDIOCRE OPPOSITION!!! THAT MAKES ME SMILE!

GeauxFinns is that you???? OF COURSE NO ONE IS HAPPY BEING 7-9!!!! That being said, with ALLLLLLLL the **** we had to put up this season (schedule, injuries, turnovers, decision making, etc.), things could've been A LOT worse! This team manage to fight through all that, though, and hang around with some of the elite teams.

Sparano didn't let this team give up, he kept this team fighting! And even though we regressed some this season, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this season. I'm willing to give him one more season, one more season to watch his team grow mentally and physically, one more season to bring in some play-makers, one more season to correct the teams mistakes, and even one more season to fix his and his staff's mistakes. That being said, I do believe his staff does need a little tweaking, maybe replace a coordinator or two.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, sometimes you have to take a step back to take to steps forward. This season is going to be a learning experience for not only Sparano, but the team as a whole. There were plenty of growing pains this season for the team, but these experiences are only going to make us THAT much stronger as a team next season. Now that Sparano KNOWS what he needs to fix and how to fix it, it'll be interesting to see what he does to fix all that ails this team. I personally can't wait till next season to see the process unfold.

So to all you "fans" who say we should fire the WHOLE staff including Sparano, just think about it for a minute. Do you really want to mess up a good thing? Blow it ALL up just to go through ANOTHER rebuilding period? Because that's what's going to happen if we do start from scratch with another head coach. He's going to want to bring in HIS own players, HIS own coaches, HIS own philosophies, and HIS own plays. We're already in the middle of that process.

Why blow up what we already have going, when we've already got something good going? Doesn't make much sense to me. I say just be patient, sit back, and watch this head coach and Tuna turn this team around because it WILL happen. Sparano and Parcells will NOT let this season happen again! We've got nowhere to go but up from here and I don't know about all of you, but I sure as hell don't want to go through what we went through 2-3 seasons ago. With the Trifecta on hand, I believe greatness is just around the corner for the Dolphins.

Keep the coach, fire the OC and DC. This was a very disapointing season. Not from the win/loss column, but from the way we played.

I said most of this in a post I made but I feel that it deserves it's own thread.

The coaching staff as a whole clearly lacks the skills necessary to gameplan, manage the clock, and create/call effective plays.
The Parcells led front office blatantly refused to address positions of need in areas of skill players, we REALLY should have drafted Hakeem Nicks at 25, and the fact that they took Pat White (a luxury pick) in the 2nd round instead of a skill player makes me want to take a flamethrower to landshark stadium.

I'm sick of the excuses, flat out I feel like these guys are losers and a lot of the players are losers too.... I say get rid of them all and if Ted Ginn is on the team next year I'll have trouble with not going on a murderous rampage.

Who's with me?

 Im with you on Ginn. No reason for him to be on the roster going forward. We have 3 solid depth type guys. We need to keep 2 of them(Hartline for sure), perhaps all 3 and go get 2 starting caliber WRs.

As sad as this sounds, thats not even one of our biggest problems right now. Midway through the season I was thinking we were a couple of pieces away. Wrong.

We need A LOT of help still. This team is simply not any good. The LBs are secondary blow. Hopefully the secondary will get better because some of them are young.

We also MUST replace Ferguson now. This position is the key to our defense, so addressing this spot is priority #1.

We could also use some RBs. No way did I see this being a problem when the year started.

The TE position is below average as well.

I dont think we can fix all of this in one offseason.

And oh yea.....the whole coaching staff is a bunch of ****ing boobs. Were screwed.

I get what you're saying, but when you say "why mess up a good thing?" I say, 7-9 is not a good thing.
For as many times as the team "never gave up" and "fought back" and all that stuff, there were an equal amount of situations where the team just didn't show up until the 4th quarter, or blew a big lead in terrible fashion.
I can appreciate the 4th quarter comebacks, but guess what? The first 3 quarters count too.
As far as the schedule/injuries go. It really wasn't all that bad, stop making excuses. No one really has an easy schedule, and we had good replacements for the guys that got hurt.
Ronnie Brown was a tough loss but I'm glad we went with Henne over Pennington anyway. The kid is the future and he needed in game experience. We might have been better off with him anyway, we were 0-3 with Pennington and Henne played well considering he had no weapons and poor protection a lot of the time.

Again a team with stop gaps and youth **** will happen. You say we had the talent to stay with teams, and yes to a certain extent MIA did. But those corners being young were going to have moments of WTF. That is normal. And those corners were playing against the likes of Brady, Big Ben, Peyton (SB WINNING QB's, ALL PRO's) Brees (ALL PRO last 2 years), and VY.

I seen MIA for what it was, prior to the season. I called it out preseason, and was admonished by many here. But the writing was on the wall. Is this season a disappointment to me? To some extent, but I'm very optimistic and look forward to 2010. MIA found themselves this season. Like the announcers and others have said, this team won't die. They pick themselves up by the boot straps and fight. They don't blame anyone, they just fight. I guess you missed that aspect in your blind hatred of Sparano, Parcells and company.

Last years 11-5 team won 7 games by 7 pts or less to teams that were .500 or worse, and that was with Penny at qb.

That is all you need to know about MIA in its rebuilding process. MIA is headed in the right direction.

Insomnia411, just relax dude. All will be well, it was a very unfortunate year as much as the year before was fortunate. We're gonna be great. I know one thing, with Sparano and Co. next year we stand a great chance. If we fire Sparano and bring in all new personnel I don't see us doing ****.

Don't get me wrong, 7-9 is not acceptable, but it's a pill I'm willing to swallow for the promise I've seen in this team already. It's a lot more promise than I can remember since Ricky was lighting it up the first time around. I'm excited, you should be too. It's not CLEAR that we're on the right track, but this team was a MESS when it was inherited. Sometimes it takes a while, I just ask with as much reason and logic as possible that you just give it some time. Give it another year, and y'know what? If things are the same or worse next year, I'll be singing the same tune as you.

You fit in well in the sped classes, you puny minded simpleton.

Am I the only one who realizes that we just followed up an 11-5 season with a 7-9 one where we COMPLETELY CHOKED IN 3 CONSECUTIVE BIG GAMES DOWN THE STRETCH????!!!!

Honestly, did this team look prepared to play against Houston? Do you like the fact that this team doesn't start playing any football until the 4th quarter. You like consecutive slow starts to the season followed only by a buildup to heartbreak?
What the hell are you talking about!!??

Yes dude. They all ****ing love it. They ****ing love losing. It never gets old to them. As long as they can continue to give the ole "there is always tomorrow" line out there, then they are fine. Just give them a "name" running the team in some way and a couple of guys who have every accomplished anything at all worth mentioning and they ****ing love it.

In the meantime the locals love not filling the stadium and seeing it full of fans of the opposing team when its any somewhat popular team. But, at the same time they will tell you they love the phins. They love em so much they wont spend a ****ing dime going to the games but, they will come on here and be Sparano and Parcells fluffers.

Then any players who suck so much they cant even get on the field or hardly produce when they do (Turner, Sheets, Brandon London come to mind) are heralded as up and coming stars.

They will all keep pretending that somehow this team that lost 3 consecutive games down the stretch to mediocre teams(two at home) and lost on the road to Buffalo a few weeks ago is better than a team that scratched and clawed its way to an 11 win season and a division title by beating all the mediocre and bad teams it played last season all because the schedule was tougher. Yea right. :rolleyes2:

This team got WORSE over the last year...PERIOD. **** better change soon or heads will roll. Personally, I saw enough bs from the coaching staff this season to be convinced they should all go. For what they had to work with(injuries and schedule considered) they did a piss poor job. Im certainly not impressed with last seasons draft either. Im not so sure I feel as good about the previous seasons draft now as I was last season either.

Disagree.

And this may be a different topic. But lets be honest, some fans can't handle a team not being perfect. Some fans can't handle the rebuilding process. Thats where this team is. If you can't see a HUGE improvement from 2007 thru 2009.....then you're clueless. Everyone was giddy with the playoff appearance last year. But sadly, most realistic fans were the only ones that saw the regression coming in 2009. I think I predicted somewhere 6-10. Might not have been on finheaven...but somewhere. I was close. And the team never quit (which you should actually give the staff some credit for that). And we hung in the playoff race till the bitter end. Some tough games we lost this year that just couldn't be closed out. I still believe this headed in the right direction.

Oh and WVdolphan, keep on complaining like you can change anything. It's not a drag, or brings down fan morale at all.

They will all keep pretending that somehow this team that lost 3 consecutive games down the stretch to mediocre teams(two at home)
The defending Super Bowl champs are mediocre? :rolleyes2:
