Philbin to speak tomorrow at combine

Joe will pull a Mark McGwire…."I am looking toward the future" ****.
 
He is so clueless about everything.

The excuse and denial machine in full force.

I can't wait til he is fired.

If he is responsible for the locker room, why is he employed?

Bottom line there are some things after this that you can give Philbin crap for, but he owned up. That's all you can ask for.

And unsurprisingly that one question you posted Hayden was from Big O. People are giving him crap on twitter

Its a terrible question because it implies he shouldn't have a job. Its kind of insulting actually.
 
Joe has no responsibility on who is on the leadership council. Ok.

The true answer is that nobody thought there was a problem and Martin made MORE of this than was actually there. However, nobody will ever say that.

With all due respect, coaches pass over questions like that all the time, and the only reason you think it's such a great question is you hate Joe Philbin.

And Philbin also mentioned how Richie was voted a member of the leadership council and he didn't go against the players. This was mentioned back when the whole dman thing happened, and he got grilled for it back then
 
The only impressive aspect of Philbin's presser is that he got out in public and took a few of the questions and arrows before his GM had to face the media this afternoon. Otherwise, it was a bland performance that doesn't inspire confidence that he has a handle on his locker room...or will get one.
 
Here is my deal with Joe in regard to this situation:

* Martin made way more of this situation than is actually there. It has gained PC momentum and swept up people along the way.
* Joe is good man would never ever want a player to feel the way Martin did, but because Martin said nothing, who would have known?
* Joe dropped the ball by not having enough "foot soldiers" in the form of captains, "his guys" and low level assistants helping him with the pulse of the locker room. If he thought he had them, they let him down.
* If Joe truly discussed players respecting each other professionally, they obviously did not listen to him, which might be the most alarming thing going fwd.
* This offseason Joe must get "his guys" in the building during free agency.
