Philbin vs Fisher- Who Did a Better Job?

Neither one, not happy with have philbin and how he has played out, and definitely do not like fisher and definitely feel he is no great shakes...............so the answer, they both suck.............

Philbin by 1/2 game. If it wasn't for the 3 game collapse against Buffalo(2x) and the Jets, we would not be having this conversation.
Fisher will never make the playoffs in that division.

You definitely have a point Langer72, Philbin's whole aura would have changed if he would have "motivated, and coached up" these guys to make the playoffs, like Shula would do in the past, however his coaching record is now stained by the fact that the reality is they totally collapsed when it counted.........I dont have the confidence in him to really win "playoff" style games because of his passive demeanor..............

So regardless of whether he's done a slightly worse job than Philbin (my estimation considering the OL and distractions Philbin had to work with) or marginally better, it's moot cuz we hired the HC with more potential upside. Of course, with a better, less turbulent OL and almost anyone other than Sherman calling the plays, this question would actually have been a no-brainer.

Bingo.

Who is Andy Dalton, Alex.

Fisher wins because of how much tougher the NFC West is over the AFC East, NFC West features an outstanding SF, SEA, and decent ARI teams..meanwhile we have a good NE team and a couple of bottom barrellers that we struggle to beat and in BUF's case, not able to beat at all...

True. However, all threads are not posted for your accounting skills, which I would question. This one was for a coaching staff comparison, and IF you have something to say, accounting or otherwise, it would be more than welcome.

The comparison is on all players, drafts, FA's, and development, etc. Get off your "Man Crusher" deal with RT and try to do something a bit different. It's become boring.
As long as I'm within the ToS, I'll do what I please, thanks. :)

Ummmmm, right now I would say they both suck fairly equally. If I had to choose, I would take Philbin but have no good reason why.

Jeff Fisher has had a much harder division to deal with…which is ironic because one of the reasons for spurning the Fins was not having to deal with the Pats. Ooops. Looks like the NFC West is a tad bit more competitive than first though.

Here is the deal…Jeff Fisher was never coming here. The question should be Joe vs. McCoy or Zimmer or Bowles.

Do I have to have long algebraic equations with a lot of words in my take like derivative, correlation and subjective?

I still cant understand the fisher love...head coach for 19 years...playoffs ONLY 6 of those years, only 6 seasons above .500...no superbowl win...he didnt get to the playoffs in his 1st 5 seasons...we would have been calling for his job in the 2nd year....

SOMEONE, ANYONE, explain how anyone could possibly want him as a head coach...

Fisher has done a better job w/o a doubt. Had Miami finished off this season and made the playoffs I'd give the edge to Philbin but they collapsed, SL plays in a much tougher division and he had less to work with. Fisher gets the edge

It is a stupid comparison of a veteran like Rivers vs. a young QB in his second year in Tannehill. So instead of comparing them from this year, lets compare their numbers from similar points in their respective careers?

Can't the same thing be said of the comparison of veteran HC like Fisher vs. a coach in his second year in Philbin?

Yep, Shula did a great job against the likes of Buffalo.

McCoy wasn't mentioned in the OP's post. Learn to not talk about him in every conversation where Philbin is mentioned.

How Hayden won any award here is beyond me. Being a troll for man crushes doesn't make him a controversial poster. It just makes him a troll at the core of his argument.

Fisher has the experienced veteran QB and a better OL. If in Miami with his work over the past few years being identical...he too would be on the hot seat.
