Post Game Victory Speech

Sorry, it looks weak, and I know it wouldn't motivate me if I were in the room listening to him. Looks impersonal and out of touch with the moment.

Really, how many talking points do they have to cover during a few minutes after a game? It's not like he was giving a State of the Union Address.

Well if you needed to be motivated by a speech after the game, you wouldn't be in the NFL would you.

I think its a sign of being detailed and thorough. He writes down specific things that he wants to point out to a team, I have no problem with that. I'll always value content over delivery. How a coach delivers a post game speech wont have any effect whatsoever on the performance of the team, but what he says will.

He could always just yell and scream whose got it better than us lol

I want him to look at the que cards and then look up and say "Miami has the Dolphins, the greatest football team..."
All while doing a little dance!
That would be so awesome, but maybe we should save it for a special occasion, like making the playoffs...

what I will admit is that the cues on the notecards are really general themes like "resiliency" and a "team win" which is kind of odd to me why you'd even need a notecard for something like that.

but at the same time, it doesn't really matter. some coaches aren't the type to give passionate, impromptu team speeches.

On this team, we fight for every inch!

(Except for Daniel Thomas)

He's definitely scripted when the camera and microphone are in his face but I read his lips on the sideline during the game and there were a few "F" bombs thrown.

A few F Bombs does not make you a leader of men.... Nor a great orator.

He uses his notes and seems to be thinking real hard as he speaks which doesn't come across as being natural with the guys. Just my observations. Although I will say it was great to see players smiling and responding. What a difference a win makes.

happy now?

The post-game speeches have been the same since Week 1. I don't think they will change unless Miami was in the playoffs. Philbin might then literally gut a man on camera b/c he's so happy.
