I'd rather he be organized I his thoughts than a blubbering idiot ala Rex Ryan.
What evidence is there that it's important?Beyond lame.
Do you really need a cue card to remind yourself the team played with resilience?
Put the notes down and deliver something appropriate to the moment, worth 10 speeches from a sheet of paper which even then are poorly delivered.
People who don't think this stuff is important are nuts.
I'm ready to be "cured" (at least partially) by evidence in support of your point. I didn't figure any would be forthcoming, however, which means you're essentially left with an "anyone who doesn't think like I do is nuts" point. In my experience those are the folks who are typically more "nuts" than the rest of us.What would be the point. You've already demonstrated you're nuts.
Apples and oranges there buddy. One is talking about specific points about national interests, and the other is talking about how proud he is of his team. That is like a parent reading off of a cue card to tell his or her children how proud they are of them.Don't ever watch the President then!

You`d think the way the season played out up to this point, there would be a 1000 thread subjects about what the coach could do better before we get to the way he delivers his speeches AFTER the game has been played... And so what if he does, can anybody really come up with any sort of downside to this? Like why is it negative to use cue cards? I know a lot of coaches use them, their used by pretty much every managers in every freaking business sector you can think of... Whats the real problem here? Is it really the cue cards or some of you have just run out of imagination?
I have NEVER seen a coach use cue cards for these speeches. Here are some examples I could find. None have cue cards:
Jimmy Johnson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceC16yRDFOA
Hue Jackson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_W_Z44LeU
Pete Carrol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHkrx1c246A
Jim Harbaugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qplqYqrNV9U
Mike Smith: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gy4y1OuNEg
Romeo Crennel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=333qflJ8S7Q
Rex Ryan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2_f_kn-uJo
Not a ONE of them relied on cue cards to deliver talking points like "Good job, men", or "this was a team win!"
If you want Rex Ryan as a coach, get on board with another team.
I didn't say I wanted any of these guys as coaches, I was just showing examples. I have yet to find a coach other than Philbin to use cue cards to give a traditionally impromptu speech.
