Pouncey has hip surgery out possibly 3 months

Every year we patch the stadium and rationalize Nate Garner as starting caliber.

What could go wrong?

What makes you think Gibson is headed to PUP?

There was talk about Gibson going on PUP to make sure he had a chance to come back near 100 percent. There is not alot of his tyoe of injury history to be able to predict exactly how long recovery time is. In refernce to the PUP limit the rules were changed and you can have more than one player on the short term PUP.

Some of you worry too much, let things play out and play one game first jeez. Every team has injuries they are professionals and will find a way to make it work.

Eh..... tad bit different when it's basically 5 new starters on O-line, with possibly two rookies (Turner, James), three 'vets' who have never been true starters (Thomas, Shelley, Brenner) and thank god, Pro Bowl LT.

The plan was for Pouncey to babysit Turner,Shelley,Thomas etc in the middle of the pack.

Now? Who knows what will happen.

It's never good losing a Pro Bowl player for what seems like at the very least half the season. It's even worse when that Pro Bowl player belongs to the worst O-line in the league.

:idk:

I think it'll hurt the cohesion some, but I think losing a center who needs the guard to tell him when to snap the ball in the shotgun might be a touch of Chicken Little for those that think our line will be as bad as last year because of it. Centers get paid less than LT's and RT's for a reason. Hell, even a legit LG makes more than the average center. Any decent QB can sidestep a midlle rush from a 300 pounder much easier than a speedster from the outside he doesn't see coming. Sign Dan Koppen to a 1-year deal, put Pouncey on PUP and play it out. I doubt not having Pouncey costs a game. May not help, but it doesn't float to that level.

And if it bears out that it's not that much of a loss, offer the mental midget a low-ball offer in the offseason. Take it or leave it.

hmmm...koppen...that might not be a bad idea

didn't he like retire though due to injury???

When people say out for 3 months, is that recovery from the surgery or, being ready to play?

well we all know that if a dolphin has surgery he has the excuse to play like crap the entire year so he might as well go on IR.

I'm curious about how he got hurt. By all reports and such he was absolutely crushing it at OTA's.
