practice tweets day 10

I don't know, the QB when asked about it said that they were trying certain routes against certain coverages to see if they could complete them, and that they'd be moving on from them.

Question is, do you believe the QB who threw the picks... or Armando and Omar?

that makes me wonder if it's still an option route system with lazor here...coverage should dictate the routes if it is...sounds like it may not be...i'm surprised if it's not i think that would take away a real strength of the qb throwing away from coverage etc...but it also would mean that our wr options wouldn't have to play as smart as they did in the old system or the tight ends...but then again we drafted landry and he plays as smart as they come on college tape so i kinda doubt we moved away from option routes

at the same time if what tanny said is true you'd think that james walker at least would pick up on something like that...the coverage and the routes being run into it...maybe i think too highly of his football iq i guess...i know the rest of the guys are lost

Tannehill's comments, coupled with the fact many of the picks were our secondary over scrub receivers, causes a lot less worry IMHO. It's a whole new system guys, they're installing and testing it. You won't see it in game.

And aside from the experimental stuff, reports were that RT was very accurate and having a good day.

I don't expect Tannehill to regress, and as long as he doesn't we should be in the hunt and a play or two will make the difference just like last year. So these training camp woes don't worry me. I do hope he progresses though which means we should win 10 games relatively easy and be in the hunt for the division. You would hope to see some domination once in a while in training camp if he is poised to step it up a level though, and the lack of that is worrisome.

I don't know, I'm actually encouraged even with the news that the QBs have been struggling with picks (wasn't just Tannehill. Moore, Devlin, and the camp scrubs have all been struggling), because we've heard that for two days in a row, the pass pro was actually pretty good.

Sounds like Satele is actually doing a credible job and Shelley Smith did well at LG.

unless misi is a beast mike backer the run d will be leaky...hell its already giving up more yardage to the 2's in the run game even than it should...maybe some of thats scheme driven...but our dline physically dominates our oline pretty much in one on ones especially the 2's...i think we will have issues with downhill power run games who work off pa and teams that get us in the nickle and run out of it...

i'd plan for the pass rush to be the meal ticket on d...dion jordan is the potential true difference maker in that regard...

not to mention did you guys see the way the officials are calling even the softest contact now on the d in the hof game...yeesh...they call it that tight games are gonna be a flag fest...let them play a little dammit

These are my concerns as well. While most of the teams that scare me are outside of the AFC East, if the Jets get CJ0K past our porous LB corps, or the Bills get Spiller there, it gets ugly with our slow secondary trying to stop them.

Delmas and Jones are thumpers, but they can't catch real speed in the open field. Neither can Finnegan. We could be facing being gashed in the run game more than occasionally.

We are now hard wired with quick twitch pass rushers, and we look good there. But, this defense now has fundamental weaknesses stopping runs up the middle and covering short routes with LB's. Good Offensive Coordinators will pick us apart.

One good thing is that the new stricter enforcement of the rules against DB's helps us. It hurts our rivals who play more press, wheras we are predominantly off-man and much less likely to be hindered by the stricter enforcement.

Our team reporters are just dumb when it actually comes to watching plays. Ryan said it was the last day of installs which also means they were most likely trying to force things. Telling two players like Finnegan and Grimes the last two days what defense to be in versus an offense is just easy for them. If he throws five ints in Preseason I'll start to worry a little.

Lol omar his arm wearing down in training camp

tanny may need a little rest...arm fatigue definitely can happen if it's overworked...especially with all the injuries at qb he may be getting overworked...they don't put ice on qbs throwing shoulders for nothing during the week

Lol omar his arm wearing down in training camp

I don't know that that's something to bang Omar for.

Apparently, that's what happened to Matt Moore. Said he's got shoulder soreness due to fatigue.

I guess i learn something new everyday I didn't know that happened often

Chris Perkins @chrisperk

Not to beat up T'hill, but again, he;s had good protection all day. Just bad passes last two days.

Chris Perkins @chrisperk

T'hill hasn't had Wallace/Hartline/Clay last 2 days but INTs weren't caused by that. It's been poor passes.

Tannehill gonna Tanny

As Jeff Darlington and Steve Wyche said on Twitter, the Dolphins defense might end up being one of the best units in the league this season.

And for this team to win they are going to need to be. 8th in the league in points per game allowed last season was good enough only for 8 wins. If they crack the top 5 this year, we may have a shot to make the playoffs.
