Along the lines of what junc & flyn said, its better that RT get days like this out of his system now.

He is trying to make quick decisions in a new offense with a new install. I am very glad the coaches want him to push the envelope and learn the timing for the new plays. I want to see how well he understands the timing during the third preseason game. I do not care if he throws ints now. I just want him to push his tempo to learn the timing.

I don't expect Tannehill to regress, and as long as he doesn't we should be in the hunt and a play or two will make the difference just like last year. So these training camp woes don't worry me. I do hope he progresses though which means we should win 10 games relatively easy and be in the hunt for the division. You would hope to see some domination once in a while in training camp if he is poised to step it up a level though, and the lack of that is worrisome.

I am not sure regress means anything in this context. The new offense is so different that it will be difficult to compare. I am looking for improvement from week to week. I believe you can evaluate tempo, time to release, and other fundamentals. Comparing to the previous years just seems like comparing apples to carrots. It just does not make sense.

Even 37 year old surgeons need decent O-lines to protect them. Ex Dolphin assistant Dave DeGuglielmo is now the Patriots O-line Coach with Dante Scarnecchia's retirement after 30 years on the New England sideline. Don't be surprised if their O-line deteriorates. Belichick was able to trust Dante's system for years. Players are the same but Dante is a key loss.

It's quite simple actually.. Tanny is not used to having all this time in the backfield with his new Oline, so he's holding the ball an extra second or two, which he's not used to, resulting in late throws getting picked. He'll make the adjustments. He told me so :up:

Hard to judge until we see the offense and Ryan going against another teams defense. Our guys on D have seen every route many times and are pretty good to start with.
That will happen very soon.

To be honest I would really be concerned if Tannehill was eating up this defense on a regular basis.

Every year the preseason seems important only because of what it follows. Normally I'm at Saratoga this time of year and properly ignore the preseason. This year I'm reading camp tweets. What a pathetic farce.

Not until early to mid season is it glaring that preseason is meaningless. Other than watching the handful of new players it's meaningless. That's why I appreciate Griese and Moore essentially treating it as meaningless. Too bad Griese doesn't get rid of the annual blather like, "I'm really impressed with ..." and "The Dolphins are in great shape at..."

For one thing, teams unveiling new offenses don't show it in preseason. Forget about Friday resembling the opener. They'll display a fraction, and not the most significant changes. It took me into my mid 20s before I figured that out. Also the third game is meaningless. That's another absurdly overhyped aspect. It's only slightly more relevant than the other preseason games, which means it's like the last range ball you hit before teeing off.

The final preseason game is a joke, with both teams trying to get out of there healthy in two and a half hours. That's the only huge change since I was a kid. Previously that game was used as the so-called dress rehearsal, not the second to last game.

BTW, the refs can't call too many penalties in the secondary without ruining the sport. So you can forget about that adjustment. And the playoffs will be called with more restraint, as always.

^ I can agree but it is important for position battles. You tell who your starters and key back ups will be from preseason. As far as scheme or how good the collective offense or defense will be your right you can't tell. But individually you can evaluate players

well, DOOGIE, i would suggest that you stop watching and or listening to ANY more camp ore preseaon games or info if it is upsetting you so much.

this is a GAME and supposed to be FUN! it obviously isnt fun for you right now. are you into baseball or nascar? bowling? soccer? i would concentrate on these things until the games start in september.

its a bummer having something that should entertain you turn into something that makes you rage. i would go to basketball or baseball sites and forums and hang there until kickoff.

but i will say this. if the preseason and camps mean nothing, the coaches and staff wouldnt do it. wouldnt spend the money and risk the injuries if it wasnt so important. oh well. each to their own they say.

Yes, of all the colleges out there, he either chose or settled on Florida A&M, probably with more of a claim to lack of diversity than even Oral Roberts University. Is it any wonder that if you've been following Omar closely going back to the Lemon and Beck daze, it's pretty obvious that he's driven by a "monochromatic" view of Fins QBs. As with Garrard 2 years ago, if you don't think he'd be excusing Teddy Bridgewater if in place of Tannehill for what he really knows is a mistake-prone inevitability in setting up new systems, then I've got a shiny bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you cheap!

The only things I learned from training camp last year was Grimes would be a beast, and that was just from one play. And Will Davis looked like a legit cb to me.

This training camp Landry is the guy I want to see most in the preseason games, I want to get a look at Finnegan and I want to see if Davis and Taylor still look the part. I don't think you'll learn anything from Tannehill or the o-line or many of the other vets.

I'm also curious to see if Lazor is on the sideline or in the press box, do we know that yet? I tried to find him on the scrimmage highlights but no good shots of the sideline.

If misi is just average in the middle I think we will be ok. All reports indicate jenkins is much improved. He Should start over wheeler. Tripp might even push for playing time and his measurables are off the charts

I wouldn't bet on it. With the LBer shuffling, Wheeler seems to have ended up at Sam, which is where he played in Oakland in 2012, and had a very good season.
