Active Roster

This may very well be true. However, I would very much like to see Feeley perform well this year. (duh)
WARNING: LOOOONG POST... sorry. :o
And I, for one, think he can... perform well. Is he the next incarnation of Manning? Oh, c'mon people! :goof:
But could he put up good enough numbers (STATS, for those of you that don't know what I'm talk'n about) to warrant some TRADE VALUE after we've picked up a "franchise QB" in next year's draft? Hey! Who knows! But it would be nice, wouldn't it? For example, wouldn't it be great to be in the enviable position San Diego is in now? OK! So, why is it so hard for some people (NOT directed towards you, CK) to get off Feeley's @$$? Sheesh! Didn't we already have enough of that with Wanny-on-Fiedler? (Sounds like some funky sandwich you'd order in some trendy SF deli.)
Seriously, I'm not wishing PRO BOWL for Feeley (despite my appearance, I'm not stupid). But I am wanting, and BELIEVING, that he CAN put up FAR BETTER numbers and performances than last year. And THAT should be a no-brainer for everyone - you could put my 90 year old grandmother in at QB this year and you'll see improved #'s.
Look, bottom line, Feeley WILL improve. The ONLY question is how much... HOW MUCH... that is the only debate we should be having. And the one thing NONE of us can possibly know right now (and, really, not until about Week 5 or 6) is how much will the elevated play AROUND HIM take HIS game up a notch or two... or three.
Finally, no one but Feeley knows or controls how much he is willing to give of himself to CHANGE, to improve. I think we've all seen players that CLEARLY had a lightbulb finally go off and suddenly their NFL careers took root for real. THAT could happen. And no matter what people have seen (good or bad) from last year or with the Eagles or in college or in their dreams... no one knows the depth of this guy's own personal resolve to find a breakthrough in his game. We don't. We just don't. Hell, HE don't know! Not until he pushes himself past that point. (That's why it's called a BREAK-throuuuugh.)
Now, anybody want to argue whether Feeley's interviews and BEHAVIOR on and off the field (leadership) suggest that he might have such an epiphany? Now THAT'S worth debating. And I'll throw my hat in on that one.
I think the clay (so to speak), the potential, is definitely there for some good coaches to mold it into something good... maybe even special (within two or three years). Did we have the coaches for that last year?
Ok, then. So whhhhhhhhhhy - again - are so many people on Feeley's @$$?
Ok, enough. I'm bugg'n.
PEACE!
