Rapoport Says Martin Could Return to Fins

Are you kidding. There would probably be lawyers lined up if we cut him. The case would not be based on the bullying...it would be based on the fact that we "fired him without just cause." The lawyers would say that he is "a top tier talent that was a starter until the incident, and that his talents may have even gotten better with the rest..."

They don't need a reason other then they just don't want him on the team. He does not fit what we want to do. As for him being a top tier player we can just show the tape. That will put an end to that argument. LOL Top Tier my ass.

Miami does not need just cause to get rid of Martin. People get cut all of the time for performance reasons. We would cut him and that would be the end of it. No lawyers, no nothing....just gone

That's just it...it is the "proving" it is for performance. We would cut him...which we can do...but I just don't believe that would be the end of it.

I would be shocked if Martin tried to take legal action against the Dolphins for cutting him. Even more shocked if he won. I can't even believe that pansy ass would even want to come back. Dude is nuts

I'm not saying he would win, but simply the threat of a long, drawn out, problem would be enough to settle.

Without just cause? Martin walked out of the Dolphins facility. That's just cause. Whether he is really suffering from emotional problems or not. You can't simply walk out of your job and expect to retain that job!

Someone call him a silly name and scare him away from the team please!

Wouldn't that be something if Richie and Martin somehow kissed and made up and came back to the Dolphins? It's so unimagineable that, dare I say it, I could almost see it happening! :bugeye:

Or maybe I'm just really sleep deprived.

I dont think your all that crazy, hell, after all this organization has been through:

-Ricky Williams quitting, then coming back, then getting suspended, coming back, getting suspended again, then coming back
-Jason Taylor and Bill Parcells catfight which led to Jason Taylor going to the Redskins, then Parcells bringing him back, then another catfight which led him to the Jets, then Taylor coming back yet again
-Cecil Collins playing a stout grand total of eight games before going to Jail for a solid 20 years(no coming back from that)
-Dan Marino getting annhilated in his last game ever by the JAGUARS 62-7 (then having an illegitimate love-child)
-Nick Saban lying through his teeth
-The stadium renovation that will never happen
-Jeff Ireland (nuff said)
-Alfred Oglesby fake kidnapping story
-The infamous 1-15 season under the worst HC of all time..Cam Cameron, who was the first ever HC to draft a whole family with one pick
-Trading Welker to the Patriots for some odd reason (I know, I know....poison pill....even still, NOT to the PATRIOTS MANNNNN)
-Brandon Marshall getting stabbed by his wife and him lying about that, saying he fell on a 'vase'...sorry BM, 'vases' dont cut like that
-Randy Moss owning triple coverage, most notably, Cameron Worrell (to this day, I still think he is worst player we EVER had, and that speaks volumes about the guy)
-Csonka leaving us for another league that had a ton of financial problems
-TRADING for Culpepper instead of SIGNING Brees
-Vontae Davis asking to call grandma
-Manny Wright crying in OTA's or TC (whenever that happened)
-The wasteland of QB's (and horrific QB play) since Marino

The list goes on and on. Which kind of makes me think we ARE the wierdest NFL organization [we are definatley putting up a fight with OAK and the NYJ in that regard]...So yes, its not that far fetched to think that Richie and Johnny kiss and come back to the team. It would be just another TAB to the list...

Still lots of maybes until the Wells report gets released:
Maybe #1) there is another reason why the allegations of bullying occurred and Incognito knows it.
Maybe #2) the initial thought and speculation that Martin was about to be the first gay player to out himself in the NFL wasn't so far from the truth and Michael Sam's announcement in recent days dissipates all the heat.
Maybe #3) Stephen Ross' comments pertaining to Michael Sam and how a gay player would be welcomed at the Dolphins also applied to Jonathan Martin and as a lawyer, he was seeking to mitigate risk with his statement. He is a very busy businessman, he normally doesn't have the time to release a statement, even as a Jewish intellectual, he probably believes it.
Maybe #4) the photo of J-Mart with the strippers was just posed for the camera. Come to think of it, (a) who gets 2 strippers at a time for a lapdance? (the girls normally don't like to share the earnings when a big tipper is there - they like him all to themselves (Tootsies stripper turf infraction?) (b) who allows photos like that at a stripclub? (Establishments like that normally try to protect the privacy of their clients). Maybe it was staged. It was still the only time that I have seen Martin smile. He gave up a lot more QB sacks than smiles...
Maybe #5) The 2 high profile stories are linked at the hip.
I don't know - this is just random speculation from an insomniac, but it is very interesting that after months of silence, Martin was quick to tweet his respect for Sam. That was not a fake.
I am still reminded of the fact that Martin is a Classics graduate from Stanford. While the language in the texts released makes him look like a bona fide idiot, he is a smart guy parading as an boner fide idiot.

Don't bring Vontae's Grandma into the realm of crazy things. She provides better advice than most of the player agents and she had more success in getting Vontae's respect than any of the coaches. She's not too old to give you a good whipping too:-)
