As they consider the possibility of taking a quarterback, and perhaps even moving into the top 10 to get one, the Dolphins told Ryan Tannehill that they’re committed to him as their starting quarterback in 2018 even if they draft another quarterback, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Realistically, however, if the Dolphins draft a first-round quarterback, their actions say they’re ready to move on from Tannehill. Although Tannehill could start another season with a rookie behind him, just as Alex Smith did in Kansas City last year, it would signal that Tannehill is on the way out, just as Smith was traded by Kansas City this year.

no surprise. i dont see it happening unless we give up a ton

A first-round investment in a quarterback is an immediate replacement strategy. Point blank.

Without being said, this brain trust currently in place is too ***** to draft a QB. They're going down swinging with the Tannehill treadmill.

Good. Let him sit a year or two behind Tannehill.

My read on this:

Miami is probably interested in at least one of those top four quarterback prospects, if he falls to 11.

However, the only reason you say stuff like this is to try to entice someone to jump ahead of you for one of those prospects.

Exactly. You leak stuff like this to make teams right behind you interested in a QB skittish so they trade above you and then another blue chip defender falls to them at 11.

If not, at least immediate competition.

ya I interpret it as, we will draft a QB but not in round 1, so you will be the starter still.

I think it's become at least 50/50 that Josh Rosen is on the board at #11. I actually think he's more likely to be there than Edmunds, Smith, and James. I could totally see Fitzpatrick and Rosen being the decision for us.
