Ricky Williams, Fake Or Real?

As fans, i believe he owes us something. I mean, i personally was crushed. I agree with what he did, not with why or when though. For someone like me, who i have to admit, looked up to him as an idol, it was probably the worst thing i had heard all year last year. I've lost a lot of the respect i had for him. I was proud of him for overcoming his anxiety disorders, i was proud of him being a success and truly becoming a winnder with us...but this time last year was the first and last time i was dissappointed by him. If hes for real, he better be careful with all the fans that hes lost.

Yes, I believe he owes us something. Him quiting when he did affected A LOT of people.
 
I'm a hardcore fan just as you guys are, but I seriously don't think he owes us a thing. Unless you guys were his teamate, or either met with him and became friends, then maybe he would owe you something.

Besides, he's back, and maybe he needed a little time off. We as fans don't truly know the Real Ricky Williams, all we know is what the media tells us.

Maybe he's back because he lets himself down, as well as us fans. I'm just glad he's back, and hopefully he doesn't let us down.

As for apologies, I really don't want to hear one, just go out there and play Ricky and Rack up them Yards.
 
I don't think Ricky owes anyone anything (except for the 8.6m to the fins).
Sure he was a idiot for leaving people high and dry but in the end it's just a game not world peace. He's always been honest about not being a
"regular" kind of guy. So he basically warned people.
 
IMO RW wouldn't be back if the court had ruled he didn't owed the $8.6 million.
 
Primarily for financial reasons initially, but it's not unlikely he'll regain enjoyment to some extent from playing ball.

It's obvious he is comig back strictly for $, he made it clear he does not love football and is not comin g back for that reason but rather to avoid debt.

Ricky smoked dope through most of his time studying holistic healing. He didnt seem to care that his "new holistic healing" required him to be clean and sober. Remember the 60minutes interview? He quit when it became necessary so that he could re-enter the NFL. Whether or not he can stay clean when things dont go his way..... well given the fact that his last 2 endeavours required him to be clean and he smoked anyway.....I doubt he will last a year before he gets suspended again.

Ricky Williams has always played because he loved the game, and not because of the money. Thats why he stayed at Texas another season when everyone already wrote off he was going to the NFL. About 10% of players do that when they could of been drafted top 10 after their junior year. He also was getting underpaid after his 2002 stellar performance. After rushing for 1850+ behind the worst oline he deserved at least 6 mill a year, but didnt complain.

Ricky has NEVER played for just money his whole football career, like some players do. i think when he puts on the jersey its going to for the money and to pay off his debt. But, when hes out there hes going to give it his all, and would rather prove his doubters wrong. This guy has never been money driven. He declined $535,000 to shave his dreadlocks on a gellitle commercial and then shaved them a month later by himself.

how do you know? no one knows the real story and maybe never will. we can only go on what the media has given us.

as we all know negative stories sell more than heart warming stories

why the **** do you think ricky is hiding from the media now? i think he just wants to get back on the field.

he is more of a media circus now than he ever was! imagine how he hates that considering he used to do regular interviews in a helmet ffs.

anyone that claims to know that "ricky is only coming back for the money" is just as much a homer as one who says "ricky loves football and just wants to win games" . i fall more into the latter category but truthfully no one knows and until he steps onto the field and SHOWS that he's back this is all BS :)

How do I know that Ricky smoked dope while studying holistic healing? Well, because RICKY said so in his interview with Mike Wallace. Of course Ricky has made up stories in the past so this may not be true.
Word that Ricky had quit smoking dope came out just shortly before word came out that he was interested in returning to the NFL. If returning to the NFL had no bearing on this decision, why did he wait so long to quit?
How do I know he wont last a year???? Read my post...I said "I doubt" he would last the year.
I made no statement as to the reasons Ricky might be returning, though I do have my opinions (which are very different from yours)
 
By the way, you can hate Ricky for his flakiness, but he's not actively seeking the publicity (the way a T.O. would, for example). His return is simply a huge news story.
