Ronnie Brown v.s NFL (Carries)

good post. makes a lot of sence. yeah tho hopefully ronnie gets around 24 carries a game wich will lead to huge numbers.

Ok guys, Ronnie Brown is a hall of famer. Don't you see his awesome moves? Just watch him run to the outside so he can dance some tango and get knocked down by a small db.

We all saw it in Brown last season when Mularkey restricted Brown from doing his thing. He was is a beast but on a Leash.

I don't think anyone was saying that or implying anything like that, but Ronnie is darn good back or better than some think. When he gets the carries he gets good yards as shown by the stats, and he can makes plays. I think the reverse happens when ronnie runs to the outside (chiefs TD run).

It's kinda hard to keep giving your rb the ball when there is no success found on third down.

Yep you are right. That's why in the second Jets game, on the three 3rd and short (2 yards or less) we passed all three times. Two of those passes came after 2nd down runs of 9 and 8 yards by Ronnie Brown and one 8 yard reception by Brown.

I think Ronnies season will be in the same mold as Ricky's first season here. Ricky had been a good back with good numbers, but wasn't considered and elite back like James or Faulk. He came into Norv's system, which is very RB friendly, and put up monster numbers and joined the upper echelon of backs. Cam's system is a very RB friendly system and I think it will translate into some big numbers for Ronnie. I also see Ronnie breaking plenty of long ones this year because we have a coach that understands of what pounding the rock can do for you. You pound it enough you make a defense break down, even some of the best, like the bears.

Thats right, we only did that a handful of times last year. (bears game) Whenever the other team would score, we just tried to catch up instead of pounding them and wearing them out, then waiting for an opportunity.

I think our biggest problem was we had no way of striking and catching up quickly. Joey to Chambers(or anyone) deep didn't exist, so we had to have drives that took 15 plays. Of course in those 15 plays there was ample opportunity for Joey to mess up, or Mularky to get too creative, so not much happened.

Too many times we saw Ronnie get nice chunks on 1st or second down, then on 3rd and 2 we would never just line up and run it. And if we did it was that funky short handoff where Ronnie couldn't get momentum going or the fullback never got his footing right. I don't know what that play was but I hated it.

Just do a power run up the middle, but we always had to outthink em or something.

In the Pittsburgh game, we had three 3rd and shorts. On the first Culpepper QB sneaked for the first down. On the second one, Ronnie Brown scored a touchdown and on the third one Brown was stopped for a one-yard loss. So we were 2 for 3 on 3rd and short.

In the first Buffalo game, we had five 3rd and shorts. On the first one, Brown picked up 3 yards, on the second one Brown ran for 8 yards, on the third one Brown ran for 14 yards, on the 4th one Brown was stopped for no gain and on the fifth one Culpepper hit Welker for a touchdown. 4 for 5 on 3rd and short.

Our problems on 3rd down was we were rarely in short yardage situations.

From your personal opinion honestly, how does Ronnie Rank in the afc?
