Rosen or Take QB with 1st Rd Pick, NOT BOTH

Churn, churn, churn! Keep drafting QBs. I too, like Rosen but I think you can throw 4,000 yards and 30 TDs out the window. That OL won't allow it so the coaches will have to see past that and try to assess the value of his throws, at least the few non-pressured ones. Then you go for your heart's desire in '20 (Tua or another) and if you still suck enough to be at the top in '21 you can entertain the thought of taking Lawrence too. If they're all good, you are building plenty of assets. Just make sure you keep the best one as your franchise QB.

Oh.....and again, down the road in '22 and beyond you continue to take QBs. No, not at the top but from round 4 on down if you find a guy to develop that you just can't believe is still there, you take him and turn him into a better asset later. Never stop taking QBs!!!! (Of course, I say this thinking that I'm talking about an organization that knows what it's doing. It would pay off for them. As far as Grier, McKenzie, Allen? We shall see)

I keep seeing around the forum that even if Rosen plays well, you still draft QB with #1 pick just to make sure you have franchise QB. Have 2 bites at the apple they say.

I think this theory is wrong, if Rosen shows to Flores & staff that he can be a franchise QB for the team, YOU GO ALL IN ON ROSEN! Trade your first round draft pick for multiple 1sts and 2nds and build around Rosen through all those high picks. If Tua separates himself from his peers then you can really get big haul for team desperate for a QB (Bucs, Bengals, Titans, Raiders). Also when you draft QB with top 5 pick (most likely 1st pick) then there's no QB competition. You damn well know that QB going to start week 1 as he's going to make or break Chris Grier tenure as GM so you damn well know he'll want him starting ASAP!

If Rosen isn't good then of course go ahead and draft your QB and have Rosen as backup. I think you Dolphins fans will agree that the best situation is for Rosen to show he can be a franchise QB so you can trade #1 for massive haul. Like Imagine if Bucs land top 10 pick, Winston remains a bust and GM is in the hot seat and gets desperate and offers an RG3 haul for Tua who has potential to receive similar hype. Dolphins are already loaded with picks but then you add RG3 haul to your war chest. That right there can make the Dolphins become a DYNASTY!

Im enjoying this rebuild process as an outsider and also a fan of Rosen so def excited to see him against Cowboys and I'm telling everyone I know that I believe Rosen will be the Dolphins franchise QB.

Dolphins fans get excited! People maybe laughing at you now but that laughter will turn to envy when they see Flores, Grier & Rosen holding up the SB trophy!

I don’t agree for one reason...Rosen will not be able to prove it behind this line...and the Dolphins can’t pass on this rare opportunity to take the best QB in the class.

The beauty of the Rosen deal is we have him cheap for a few years and can afford the luxury of having two top tens compete for the most important position in football....the loser is a great backup (we all know QB’s get hurt)...and can be dealt at the right time.

We have ample draft picks coming in 2020 and 2021 and simply must ensure we have our QB.

If we’re gonna trade down I like the potential top ten Steeler pick, Houston pick or the first overall pick in day 2(which always is always highly coveted!

Easy... Keep Rosen. He made 2 PERFECT TD throws against NE. Just dropped. Tua will be a bust. As a Patriots fan, I'd love to see the fish blow it as usual. However, Flores has jettisoned the top talent and gotten a haul of picks. Fleeced Houston! I don't understand why you are all upset about the rebuild.
Wtf is a pats fan doing on here giving advice? You don’t want the team to draft Tua because you’re scared he’ll be burning that team twice a year?

News flash....maybe the team isn't eying Tua. Rosen plays well the rest of the season, we can trade one of our firsts, and use it as more draft ammo. Maybe pick up a different QB just a bit down the order. We don't have to drop 10 spots with the pick we trade. Hell, just need to move a spot or two to get some value back.

This is true! I’m excited for the ride. Draft day is going to be awesome. For once in 20 years I have hope.

I was upset we didn't move up last year to get Rosen instead of Minkah, so I'm definitely behind him. I still think he can be a very good QB at this level, reagrdless of what happened last year and what will happen this year with a pair of abysmal situations. I also don't think it's going to happen this year with this team around him. Even Marino wouldn't look like Marino with this crew and that's not just because he was a pocket passer. Mahomes wouldn't look like Mahomes and Rodgers wouldn't look like Rodgers with this crew either.
That said, I would draft a QB early that I liked in a heartbeat. I have always believed in trying to create a problem like having a young Rivers and a young Brees on the same team. You parlay one of those good QB's, the most important piece to have on a football team, into multiple picks later. Yes, you have taken a risk that maybe the high pick next year fails (even Tua could fail to become what people expect), but I think it is more of a risk not to pick a marquee prospect at QB when you have the chance.
In the end it all comes down to your FO's ability to evaluate talent and how it projects.

I don't see how we could go wrong by drafting Tua. Rosen is cheap and we can easily afford both. Rosen threw a couple of balls that were simply dropped by his receivers that would have been picture perfect TDs. We haven't seen deep ball accuracy in many years. Rosen must have been extremely sharp in practice for Flo to switch it around. Rosen has no line or running game and his receivers did not help him out last game. If he can move the team and score a couple of TDs on offense he'll have done very well. I hope we're getting the ball out of Rosen's hand very fast, otherwise, he's going to take a severe beating.

Prove it.

Rosen just had a subpar rookie season, but you're still buying into him versus a kid that's likely gonna be the top pick and hasn't even played an NFL game yet. I wonder why.

Yet there are so many who are already crowning him the next mvp. Can't use that argument on only one side.

If it were me and Rosen shows that he is the guy, then I would trade the first pick for a kings ransom. However, Rosen has to show a lot of upside. Damn near the second coming of Marino. No more Tannehill ****! I would need him to put up 4000 yards and 30 TDs in the next 14 games.

If he gives you 23+ TD's and 3000+ yards you give that kid whatever he wants. If he can do that with this dung heap that kid has something to build around.

Rosen showing he's "The Guy" and the Dolphins having the first pick are mutually exclusive so I don't know why we keep rehashing this scenario.

Rosen is going to play well enough that Miami will pick one of the leftover QB's. Probably Love (who people like). I don't expect Rosen to play well enough to discourage Grier/Allen/McKenzie from taking a QB.
